Flight of the Data-Thief - A free Star Fox Style Rail-Shooter

If Rail-Shooters are your thing or fancy something different, then this a fine game worthy of your time. Thanks to the developer Tales of The Renegade Sector Games, they've produced a fun free flashed based title in the unity engine, called Flight of the Data-Thief.  In this game you control a space ship through endless corridors, while avoiding obstacles and shooting enemy ships that pass you by. The story goes that you play as a Data-Thief: a skilled pilot who can fly into a corporate facility, grab their data, and then fly out again.  Getting the data was easy but getting out isn't, as the whole planet is on high alert and out to stop you.

Gunpoint - A wicked 2D stealth game! +Demo

We've had a number of emails letting us know about Gunpoint, so here it is. If you want a wicked 2D stealth game from the brainchild of PC Gamer UK's editor Tom Francis, then you can do no wrong with this stealthy title. Gunpoint was recently released on Steam with much praise, especially as you play the part of a freelance spy on a mission to steal sensitive data for his clients. But what makes it that ever more enjoyable, is the tools at your disposal such as a device that will let you rewire lights, switches, cameras and doors. If you fancy a bit of action though, you can even punch people out of windows.

Dizzy and The Ring of Zaks - Retro fanbased platformer

Dizzy is back with another Dizzy fan based adventure platformer. It's time for Dizzy and The Ring of Zaks, which is a throw back to the eggy days of the Amstrad era. The only differences, save features, a new story, cool platforming puzzles and updated graphics. In this Retro game you once again play as the hero Dizzy and thanks to Rockwart who has unwittingly released Zaks on the kingdom, it's up to you to save the land.

Baldur's Gate: Reloaded - A complete remake of the original Baldur's Gate in Neverwinter Nights 2

This is great news, for not only those that have enjoyed Baldur's Gate, but also those that enjoyed NeverWinter Nights 2. As today, BGR Team have released a complete remake of the original Baldur's Gate (which was originally developed by Bioware), into the Neverwinter Nights 2 engine. This is a fan-made mod in development since 2006, and a tribute to the original game. The original was one of the best RPG's ever made, with tons of quests, characters to talk to and an epic story. Hardline fans will probably find it difficult to love this fan-made mod, but the amount of work that's been put into this almost full game, is something to behold.

Hedgewars 0.9.19 Released! - A new generation of Worms

If you thought Worms was awesome, then check out this free game! This is Hedgewars, which is an open source turn based strategy, artillery, action and comedy game. Basically the aim of the game, to kick the crap out of each other by any means possible. They might be cute hedgehogs but watch out, as they have one serious attitude. Not only does Hedgewars have the capability to play with up to 8 players online, you also have an infinite number of randomly generated maps, with over 22 environments and 47 or more weapons to use and more. 

Realms of Arkania - HD RPG Remake (UPDATE)

At the start of this year, we announced on Indie Retro News that Realms of Arkania was coming back as an all new HD remake.  This RPG was one of the most successful German RPG’s of the 1990’s, and if you ask any Amiga gamer or DOS gamer they will surely have remembered ROA. Thus with much rejoicing, we are here to show you a brand new video update. This title is being Developed by Austrian developer Crafty Games, and is set to release at the end of June on PC with a recommended retail price of £14.99/€19.99.

Spelunky HD - The rebirth of a hit game coming back home to the PC!

What great news to arrive home to, as Mossmouth the developers of the original and great Spelunky, have announced that the HD remake of Spelunky which was on the XBLA, will be coming this Summer on Steam and GOG to the PC. The original Spelunky was a game in very similar style to the platforming classic rick dangerous, but with cave exploration and treasure-hunting. But fast forward to the HD remake which has all new graphics, music, new areas, monsters, items, traps, treasure hunting secrets and more. This is a game not to be missed, and if the original was anything to go by, you'll be rushing to buy this as soon as it's released!

Hot News for WarZ! - New anti cheat : Punkbuster

It has been a long time coming, but WarZ the online survival zombie apocalypse game will at some point have a proper anti-cheat system, which has been seriously lacking thus far. The cheating has put many people off from the game, including myself. Even with all it's updates including new graphics, voip, it mattered not if people were cheating. But today we've got the news annoucement most of us have been waiting for. OP Productions LLC has contracted with Even Balance, Inc. to integrate our PunkBuster™ Anti-Cheat software into the survival mmo Zombie Game known as The War Z, developed by Hammerpoint Interactive.

Amiga Music: Daxx Compilation ( Earth shattering music list! )

I've listened to some pretty intense tunes in my time, from many different artists using the Amiga or other classic systems, including the C64. But Daxx takes it to a new level, I'd class him as a leader amongst the retro remix music industry. So here it is, this is the Daxx Compilation, using the ProTracker 3.61 on the Amiga. Be warned though, if Techno, Trance, Hardstyle is not your thing then look away now. However he has alot of great Amiga game remixes under his music belt as well! So put your headphones on or your speakers at full blast, it's time to go mental!

Flowerville - A Retrotastic Puzzle Platformer

This is Flowerville, a game which has a striking resemblance to Rainbow Island yet very different in gameplay style. You play as Goffredo, the famous court gardener, who must use his special abilities to bring back to life, the flowers of Flowerville before its too late! This retrotastic puzzle platformer has the graphical art style of an Amiga game and 20 fantastic stages of enjoyment for all ages. Your character can even pick up power ups, and collect gems to complete his sticker album, but make sure the flowers are collected, because you won't be able to visit the next stage!

A Vampyre Story: Year One - An Adventure Kickstarter

Most of us love a good Adventure, so what If I said a new Adventure title has just surfaced on kickstarter, and it's being developed by Bill Tiller who worked on some well known classics such as The Dig & The Curse of the Monkey Island. Well here it is, this is A Vampyre Story : Year One, which is an episodic prequel to the Award Winning PC game A Vampyre Story. Surely that's got your attention, well you won't be displeased with this kickstarter. It's full of charm, a great sense of humour, beautiful cartoonish graphics, fun puzzles and the all important brill story. This Kickstarter project by William Tiller has reached $11,783 so far, of a $200,000 goal and it's for the PC with a possibility of a Mac version some time later. Looking good!
