The Gears Don't Grind - A free game of fun and frustration

Now I'm not sure if it's the colours or the game style behind the game, but The Gears Don't Grind certainly stood out in a crowd of free indie games. Developed by Ben Allen you play as a white thing, what can only be described as a turning screw that must avoid the skulls and obstacles to reach the chequered exit. Although it sounds pretty simple, it isn't! The Gears Don't Grind is not what the doctor ordered if you suffer from high stress levels.

You'll be jumping, twirling, falling, and warping around the game screen through 25 levels, with each area being a flipped control in an effort to get to the exit while avoiding the skulls and traps. Yet with all that going on, the graphics really suit the title and gears has oodles of fun game play.

All in all The Gears Don't Grind is a frustrating experience but it will keep you coming back for more, totally recommended!
