Cinemaware - Some of the greatest classics coming to GOG.COM!

We've just been informed by Cinemaware that they have announced a digital distribution agreement with GOG.com, the leading source of DRM-free games. Through this agreement GOG.com will be providing a selection of incredible classics that many of us grew up with; one such game being Defender of the Crown. What's more Cinemaware has mentioned that not only will the DOS version be sold, but also the very first Amiga games will also be sold with the DOS versions through GOG.

Guillaume Rambourg, managing director of GOG.com, said, “We started GOG.com as a store that sold only classic games; and many of us at the office have fond memories playing Cinemaware’s titles on Amiga when we were kids. These games had a cinema-like flavour and universe of their own. It’s a real pleasure for us to bring back to life some of their classic titles in a DRM-free fashion, for nostalgic and young gamers alike!"
As per the usual, all games provided through GOG will have original box arts, manual scans, music files and where possible bonus content. As this is Cinemaware and the first game being Defender of the Crown, you can now relive a defining moment in the Amiga's life time, as this game was one of the best strategy medieval games in 1986 and is still one of the greats today. It immersed you through medieval gameplay and set a high bar for stunning graphical presentation.

As soon as the games appear on GOG next week, we will let you know.

  3. Any chance you could ask them HOW the Amiga versions will be sold? (Easily installable like DOSBox games or just as bonus content in which case people have to get an emulator themselves?)
