This could possibly be the best RGCD C64 16KB Cartridge Game Development Competition yet, as of all the releases so far that I have played, I haven't yet found a game that I really disliked. This is especially true of Majikeyric, NEO and Yogibear's new game of ' Bug Hunt [16kb cartridge] ' for the C64! It has the hall markings of a top quality C64 homebrew that everyone should play at least once!
So what does this game have to pull you in, other than dealing with so many bugs on screen? Well for one fact, it's incredibly enjoyable to play. Throughout the game you control the little green lizard creature at the bottom of the screen and must collect as many bugs as possible with your long extending tongue to get to the next level. But what makes it so addictive is not only the lovely soundtrack, but you feel constantly pushed to keep out your tongue to grab as many bugs as possible for the best possible score.
What a lovely game indeed, it has lots of smooth scrolling sprites on the screen , great C64 graphics, a brilliant tune as we already mentioned, hugely playable and the death sequence harks back to the days of Bubble Bobble!
