Indie Retro News celebrates over 5 years of gaming news!

View count going up!

Indie Retro News is not only very close to our new first huge milestone of 40 million views, but today is our 5 year anniversary since our gaming creation in the late part of 2011! Over many years of posting the latest gaming news on certain forums, (originally just quotes) I had a dream to create my own gaming website, one that would suit both fans of the Indie scene and the Retro scene and would reach out to as many people as possible, which includes those of you in the Amiga, Amstrad, C64, ZX Spectrum, Sega Master System and even the BBC Micro scene. Thus in late 2011 Indie Retro News was born and over time has seen a huge surge in views to the point of even making the top 100 for the best gaming websites on the planet.

As you can see in the original screenshot above, that's how the site used to look all those years ago, a true blog look, with re-posted articles, re-used screenshots and full quotes from other gaming sources. But it had to change and sure enough, I and some of our team do our own write ups and put our hearts and soul into what we do, to really make this site a unique place to be. We are not like other sites, we try to avoid posting the same news that other sites do and will never visit others to use their gaming news and sources as our own.

In actual fact if someone sends us gaming news we missed out on, a thanks is always given as an appreciation. But with celebration comes a request, as a lot of the effort goes in to the site, but we rarely get donations from our readers through the many years of writing, which believe me, can on occasion, take a toll on your own health. So if you love what we do, and want to support us into the next 5 years, how about a cup of coffee?

And that's me done, have a great Friday and the rest of the weekend, and a massive thank you to those of who keep on coming back and sharing all our gaming updates!
