In the 8-bit days, the adventure games that came before the animated style made popular by Lucasarts SCUMM games (Maniac Mansion and Monkey Island) were much simpler affairs. In a lot of cases barely more than text adventures but with added still pictures to help you visualize the room you just walked into. Infested is a NES style adventure game for PC and Mac which apes this adventure game transition time and looks great while doing it!
Infested follows the style of the NES adventure games such as Shadowgate, Deja Vu and Uninvited all by Icom simulations and has more interaction with the screen items than the usual text with pictures adventures.
Interaction is like the more modern point-and-click style with a simple action verb menu (Examine, Open, Use, Take and Move) and an inventory. The whole thing is seamless to use and fits the style nicely! Grahfmetal has done a sterling job of capturing this lost style. Simple to use and compelling story
