A new retro inspired game has just surfaced, but unlike previous ones mentioned which are arcade puzzle games, this one is both a side scrolling and top scrolling shooter which the developer papptimus has titled as 'STARFIGHTER 77'. This game released recently as a free PC game, is inspired by the second generation of video games as a nostalgia fueled love letter to the games of the 70's & 80's.
Yes indeed if you loved games such as the 1980's classic Defender, then this game is sure to fuel your nostalgic needs. It doesn't just feature plenty of enemy waves to blast with an increasing high score, but great retro sound effects, spacey animation, and as an extra bonus between each level, top scrolling action destroying even more enemies as your warp counts down to the next level.
