Star Hawx - An Arcade C64 tribute to classic Shooter's such as Galaxian is coming 15th October

Galaxian has appeared on Indie Retro News a few times over the years, especially as it is one particular Arcade classic that homebrew developers love making clones of with special effects and bonus power ups added. Well this time we are going back to the original hit from 1979/80, as Richard Bayliss will be releasing as of 15th October 2021 'Star Hawx'; a fun little arcade shoot 'em up for 1 player only. This game is based on the 1980's classic arcade game, Galaxians – but with a difference.

Galaxian was Namco's first major arcade video game hit. It was the second highest-grossing arcade game of 1979 and 1980 in Japan, and the second highest-grossing arcade game of 1980 in the United States, where it became one of the best-selling arcade games of all time with 50,000 arcade units sold by 1982. This game however as Star Hawx which is due for public release next month. Will feature a Loading bitmap for digital and tape versions, a Nostalgic Rack it style tape loader, a simple arcade front presentation, 16 levels of pure arcade fun, late 1980's music composed by Richard of TND, and much much more you'll just have to visit the website to find out.
