The Shadows of Sergoth - A glorious work in progress Amiga Dungeon Crawler is coming! (Pre-orders/Nov Release date!)

How time flies as it felt like it was only just yesterday that I had the pleasure of playing the high quality dungeon crawler that was released on the Amstrad CPC 6128; An inspiration to all those great first person grid based dungeon crawlers such as Eye of the Beholder or Dungeon Master. Well once again I'm in disbelief, as today we've just been told that not only is the upcoming Amiga conversion of that great homebrew crawler coming November 13th, but as from 6th October 12pm EST you can pre-order the game.

The Shadows of Sergoth was originally announced as being ported over to the Amiga by Colin Vella, Graphics and Sound by Saul Cross and publishing by Double Sided Games with full support of the original Amstrad team. What changed not longer after however, was the fact that Saul Cross was no longer doing the graphics working on other projects, but TenShu took over the whole graphics job for the game with the awesome new look which you can see in the screenshots and demo video above (link).

Main features of the game:

  • Rules are freely based on Microlite20, which is an extreme simplification of the Advanced Dungeon & Dragons.
  • 3 difficulty levels
  • 24 spells to learn
  • Character can level up to 20
  • 5 races with different characteristics: human, elf, dwarf, half-Orc and human-lizard
  • Save system
  • Auto-map
  • 16 levels to explore
