Dread - WIP Doom clone on the Amiga 500 & Atari ST gets a new graphics tease

The Amiga news still isn't done with us yet, as after already featuring games such as Inviyya II : Hyperblaster, Depthcharge and Turrican II AGA. Here comes another Doom like announcement to keep you occupied through the rest of the week. If you remember our previous article regarding the work in progress project by KK/Altair to bring Dread to the Amiga 500 and ST, which is a clone of DOOM. Then as of today you can check out the latest images provided by Tsak, showing a series of new gfx packs, including a big expansion of the decor objects and brand new textures!

In relation to this news story, here is what Tsak says about the graphics pack shown above via the EAB forums.... "Hey guys, time for an update. KK is making progress with his new custom bootloader and is currently also optimizing parts of the code in search of further ram savings for stock configurations. Overall we've saved more than 100+ kb already, which means extra room for bigger and more complex maps, texture variety, objects and enemies.

Speaking of which (and in the mean time) I've made sure all this extra space we're gonna get is put to good use, so I've created a series of new gfx packs, including a big expansion of our decor objects and brand new texures shown above in a test-map. What I'm currently into is a major update to our enemies roster with the addition of new monsters and enemy variants!"

So there you have it, Dread is looking better than ever and we can't wait till it get's an eventual release!
