Hyper Runner - A wicked sci-fi racer for the Commodore Amiga by Raster Wizards gets new footage

When I was young I used to love playing the very latest in 16bit/32bit racers such as Outrun, Lotus or even XJ220 on the Amiga. It was a time that gave me the feeling of intense speed and near misses without driving a real car and ending up in the local clink. Thankfully if you too like games like that, or even ones with a more science fiction element to them, then make sure to keep an eye on Hyper Runner; An upcoming sci-fi racer for the Commodore Amiga by Raster Wizards that looks even better in this latest footage!

AGA only?

Hyper Runner is not just an inspiration to the incredible game of F-ZERO on the SNES. But it will have around 15 levels with each having a specific look, the choice of different vehicles to race with, and while the game is some way yet from competition, the game is being coded by Colin Vella, graphics by Tenshu and music by Mike Richmond. So yes this is one game that many Amiga fans across the globe will be looking forward to playing when it gets an eventual release.

  2. Looks good, but what is that with today's Amiga music, so drab and uninventive.

  3. Judging from the smooth color gradient and the excessive use of drum samples to hide the lack of melody, it is indeed an AGA game that uses at least 2MB.

  5. Looks great. Much as I love shootem ups, great to see someone doing a Wipeout style futuristic racer!

  6. Gfx looks good, like always from that team. But the gameplay yet looks still unpolished and a bit boring... Also the music is not my cup of tea. Anyway keep up the work. I guess there is still time to improve

    1. Yes, hopefully the gameplay will be improved. Also the music ditched for something good, and some nice sound effects on top of that.

  7. Sieht Hammer aus, ich hoffe aber das es kein Lotus mit fliegenden Autos wird. Die Richtung F-Zero wäre schon top.
