Possibly the best news for this afternoon and one I really think is going to get those jaws dropping *AGAIN*, is the fact that thanks to a mighty heads up by Saberman, we have been told that the Arcade version of Trojan by Capcom, could be coming to the Commodore Amiga as an AGA port by skyzoo73. In light of this very early news story (you heard it here first!), the creator has posted the first gameplay video of this work in progress port showing one of the many levels in the game.
Here is what the creator says about Trojan for the Commodore Amiga (AGA). "For some time now I've been experimenting with the fantastic Scorpion Engine too, and I'm trying to convert one of my favorite arcade games: Trojan ( Tatakai no Banka ). Important premise: I'm not a programmer, nor a graphic designer, I just have a lot of passion for these old glories and Commodore computers like the Amiga. The game is obviously full of bugs, and many details are still missing. Still, I wanted to show something to the community". And there you have it, as soon as we get more info you'll be the first to know.

Looks Quite good for now. Keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteI have the NES version of this game. Did not know it was an arcade game despite it being Capcom. Looks about as different from its NES counterpart as Strider and Bionic Commando. These homebrew arcade Amiga ports have been amazing. Happy to see them keep coming. I collect arcade games and have my own multi arcade. Many of these homebrews are games I can no longer buy anywhere so it’s always great to see these rare gems get some attention again.
ReplyDeleteReally promising already!! great work but maybe the same can be achieved on an OCS with 2mb ? overall a great start man, keep up the good work!
ReplyDeleteSounds are AMAZING!!! I love those old sounds... So many happy moments rushing back...
ReplyDeleteExcellent after Rygar also Trojan in AGA ... but could they also run on OCS 1Mb only?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Max Tex and one of the previoud anon posters that it seems like an OCS/ECS Amiga should be able to do a decent enough job of the graphics for this port and it would be nice to have it playable on all Amigas if that was the case.
ReplyDeleteSaying that, its looking great already and I'm a big fan of all these new Amiga ports of old arcade games that weren't ported or had shoddy, rushed ports in the Amiga's heyday. I'm tempted to try making one myself.
