Ever since the creation of Indie Retro News, we've always tried to keep you up to date on the latest games, either for the Amstrad, the C64 or even the ZX Spectrum. Well it's the Commodore that's getting a shoutout this week. As we've recently been informed this morning, that if you head on over to the link below, you can try out the latest Commodore 64 game from Kraksnax called the "Shaman". An Arcade Shoot em up in which you must destroy waves of enemies for a high score.
Here is what the website says about Shaman "Classic shoot-em-up action for the COMMODORE 64 with some unseen elements or features included that only those who possess the shaman's eye shall discover. A new rendition, ever-so-lightly modded of old classic vertical shooter from those rambunctious fellas ay Kraksnak Ltd along with a tasty intro screen to boot. See screenshots and video play from the link below.

ReplyDeletebut if this is only just the old Galaga with the colors inverted... 🤦♂️
ReplyDeleteYes hoax release
Deletecan anyone explain to me if anything at all has been made to the core game except changing background color and relabeling textstrings?
ReplyDeleteNo this is just done to promote the picture
DeleteNote how they managed to misspell the name of the original author from the 1982 game. (H. Wenig instead of H. Wening)
DeleteWith all respect, the titles from Kraksnax don't really deserve their spot on your excellent website. If you go through everything on their itch.io page, you will find that each and every title is a crack of original games from the 1980s, with some minor adjustments such as an intro screen and colour tweaks. Which is ok by itself - it is what crackers have been doing for decades (just look at the tens of thousands of entries on csdb). But as soon as someone starts charging money for it and passes it off as an original authorized release things start to get dodgy in my eyes.
ReplyDeleteThank you everyone for your comments both good and bad, apart from the abusive ones I've allowed everyone to have your say. I shall be more careful in the future when doing articles in regards to Kraksnax. I'll pass the message on to Saberman!
DeleteThank you for the reflection IRN, I agree with the author above.
