Goldorak Versus - A new 2 player demo by Zisquier for the Amstrad GX4000

Amstrad GX4000 owners might like this latest news story that's just been sent to us by XeNoMoRPH, as if you're looking for a new Shoot em up to play, then Zisquier has you covered with his brand new Amstrad GX4000 demo called 'Goldorak Versus'; a 2 player demo which is a nod to the classic anime of Grendizer; a TV anime series produced by Dynamic Productions and animated by Toei Animation airing October 5, 1975 to February 27,1977. In light of this news, Saberman and XeNoMoRPH have both done a new video of the game in action .

This is what we were told about the game in our emails. "This is another new game for GX4000. What has been released is not the full game but the special Versus version released for Crocofest 2023. It is a single level demo where 2 players must compete against each other to get the highest score". And that's all there is to say about the game, but for further information check out the link below.

  1. Why on earth did the developer think putting in a badly drawn naked woman in is a good idea? Just makes the good looking game a bit cheap and tacky

    1. I agree, no need whatsoever. It's not like anyone who wants to see such stuff can't access it immediately in full 24 bit 4k at the click of a button. But it's up to the author at the end of the day and I guess some just can't help themselves.

    2. You do realise this is based off of an Anime, yes? And I highly, highly doubt the show was made in 4k. The style is from the Anime, and so are these characters. I mean, you don't have to like it, but before you say that nobody wants this stuff, ... I do. I appreciate good graphics, and a worthy homage to the TV show.

    3. I completely disagree. The Anime might also be nice. It's culture. And certainly not in 4k, made in the 70s.

    4. these anons seem easily offended. it's not my kind of game. Or nudity. But who cares? I can easily ignore it if doesn't appeal to me. I'm not going to kick up a fuss like a prude. Like those in the news this past week who think Michelangelo's David sculpted like 500 years ago is suddenly pornography. lol

    5. Was referring nudity in general, I have no idea about the Anime. Even so, I guess what could be found on the internet would be better resolution than what's in the game. But whatever, like I said, it's up to the author at the end of the day, and what they find acceptable or not.

  2. I don't see any badly drawn characters here, and none of them are naked, either. The art is quite good actually, and the characters look cool!

    1. Just for the record, a few seconds into the video, the female on the left actually goes naked

    2. She does too! 0:33 in the first video. Seems like it's tied to ship choice.

    3. Okay, then I guess I was wrong about that part, though honestly, no game is for everybody. I wouldn't mind the same thing with males, either, it's all fine by me if it's not like, er, more that, than the game.

  5. I am interested. If the problem is about nudity... What about shooting?

    1. You can't shoot the nude people in this game :)

  6. Just out of curiosity and because there are many types of anime: does the character lose her clothes in the anime when going out to do battle? Is the author's choice to show cleavage in this game random or somehow tied to the plot of the actual series?

    1. I think the optical biometric system of the ship is configured to read the pilot's lifesing better without clothes, so it is for her own safety... Or it is a battle tactic. :)

    2. Not having seen the show, all I could find is summaries how it was insanely popular in France and Canada, when outside of Japan. Those versions would most likely have been cut, but I laughed when I read that, apparently, it is illegal in Canada to name your child Goldorak, after the show became popular.

    3. looks totally random and serves no purpose other than the author's fetish

    4. If someone wants to play with it, I don't think they'll be stuck staring at the menu screen ... those few pixels will stop them from playing trhe game.
Also...If it's just for the author's fetish, it's no longer random. He probably has a purpose.
Do you think the developer should have asked the opinions of thousands of players before starting to develop a game? Of course, you can give your opinion just like others, but I think that if someone starts to regulate an independent developer, then from then on they would not have as much joy in making it and there might not even be a game that could be criticized.
