RogueCraft - Awesome looking Amiga roguelike from Badger Punch Games gets an AmiJam demo!

If you have an Amiga you are sure to like this latest news story that's just been sent to us by Saberman, as if you were hoping to play the C64 version of 'Rogue64' by Badger Punch Games but didn't get the chance, then make sure to check out the AmiJam demo for the upcoming release of 'RogueCraft'. A game which could be described as a much enhanced Amiga version of Rogue64 set with a Lovecraft-inspired theme! To coincide with this news, not only has Ricki Sickenger (Zendar) teased another screenshot, but there's a new video available from Saberman showing the WIP demo in action.

In brief this is what the website says about the game "Through many trials and perils you are now standing at the entrance of a dark and mystical dungeon far from where you started. You, Zendar, a fighter, a mage, or uh, a rogue ... are ready to defeat the monsters and gather the riches waiting below! You just need to take a leak first. The dungeons of Mordecoom are waiting!" As for the Features they are : procedural generated levels, unique experience for each play-through. quick sessions - most games last 30-40 minutes to completion, glorious pixelated graphics and lovely music by Sami Louko"

  5. love everything about it. Was wondering. How hard is it to implement something like a TFMX sound engine to games? So we can have music and fx?

    1. If someone could implement a Dual SID equivalent for Paula, then that would be pretty awesome. But having real time audio mixing while running a game is likely too much for a stock A1200, and probably still tough for an 040 to do without causing slow down. But that's just me supposing having experience using OctaMED Soundstudio and its mixing feature, I don't know how technically doable it would be or if there are any modern coding advances that would make for less overhead.

    2. audio mixing is already a reality for Amiga games, see Rogue Declan Zero, Cecconoid...and you don't even need to bother with AGA, just OCS.

    3. Yeah. im not a coder but i think thats just not true and was proven many decades ago. All the Turricans and Apidya were running on A500s and they have some of the best Amiga music out there with simultaneous FX. It is possible if one knows how.

  7. Graphics and Gameplay is serious good. Backtracking is to slow. But really could be fun. All seeds in there. Make something really good out of it developers! It's a real, real, real good start.
