ReplyDeleteLuckily I managed to grab a copy in time and I was going to post on itch that it works perfectly well on Linux using Wine when I noticed that it was removed.
Too bad, another missed opportunity for Nintendo to please the fanbase for free including those amazing little gems as extra content in their products.
Doesn't help with massive headlines from other sites like "This fan-made HD PC port of Zelda: Link's Awakening is so cool I can't believe Nintendo hasn't taken it down yet"

ReplyDeleteAs much as I love Nintendo, I hate their IP 'protection', this sucks.. The dev spent a significant amount of time on this. Rather than doing a Sega and actively encouraging / working with them (hey, make it a switch port?) they just go after them.
ReplyDeleteIf anyone (cough) knows a link that's up (so I can avoid it and not do anything illegal), that'd be great :-)
I think this whole project should just be put in an 'archive'. Just call it something like 'links-awakening-dx-hd-v-1.0.0_20231214' or whatever so it will be preserved for eternity.
