With Halloween fast approaching, you'd expect to see more creepy games with pumpkins, ghouls and ghosts to deal with. One such game by the developer CarlosITV certainly has that spooky appeal. As he has released the latest arcade platformer called The Rebirth of Cthulhu. A game in which you have to gather the ten fragments of the Necronomicon to awaken the mighty Cthulhu. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a small gameplay video viewable below.
Here's the details from the website. "The Rebirth of Cthulhu is a platform and exploration game in which you must collect the ten lost pages of the Necronomicon while avoiding traps and enemies. By some dark order of Cthulhu, you've forgotten your ammunition at home, and you'll have to survive the enemies with only your movements and cunning".

.. compiled BASIC.
ReplyDeleteWell, not exactly. Boriel Basic + ZX Game maker is modern language that is run on PC, not on ZX Spectrum, so "compiled basic" is pretty misleading... It is "compiled basic" as much as i.e. C64's Lester is "compiled Pascal". On the other hand, Pirates was mostly pure uncompiled C64 basic, so what? And even if it was compiled ZX Spectrum basic (which is not), what does it matter if game plays OK?
DeleteExactly. Thank You.
DeleteI don't care if it was written in a charcoal cave painting that was transcribed to SpEcCy LaNgUaGe by ChatGPT, all I care about is that it's a game that runs on the native hardware, and it's a good game. And it is.
