Lock'n'Chase - An Arcade port of the 1981 Data East Corporation game for the ZX Spectrum (Now Free!)

Here we are with another great conversion, because if you remember playing the 1981 Arcade game called Lock 'n Chase, then you may be interested to learn that while the game was unofficially converted over to the Atari 5200, Amiga, and C64 throughout the last few years, it wasn't until recently that Bob's Stuff had made available a very decent port over to the ZX Spectrum as a free download. A game that originally appeared back in 2025 as a physical cassette, as part of The Midnight Brew Collection 2025

Here's the latest. "This game is a port of the 1981 Data East Corporation (DECO) arcade game Lock'n'Chase. Guide the thief Lupin around the bank vault collecting all the coins before making for the exit, whilst all the while keeping watch for the four pursuing cops (Super D) as they try to block your escape.  Use the tunnels on either side to evade capture, and close doors as you go to temporarily stall them.  Increase your loot by collecting treasure and money bags enroute should they appear."

  1. I used to dumpster dive when I was 10 years old at Data East in San Jose. Me and my friend found a few Nintendo games and controllers. I miss the 80s.

  2. Really nice port, though I prefer the C64 version from Luca Carminati

    1. There are some incredible ports in the The Midnight Brew Collection. I ended up not buying the recent one as it ended up just too much money :(
