Thanks to a midweek shout out from Saberman, we've been told that the upcoming Commodore Amiga game of 'Dr.Dangerous' by HooGames2017, has been updated with a number of changes such as improved game speed, new enemy types and so much more. For those of you wondering if this game is worth following, then the feedback such as "Wow, what an awesome game! " and "Great game, congrats to you all :)" such tell you all you need to know. To coincide with this news, we've got some more info about the game as well as a video.
Dr.Dangerous - Only a playable test version, but it looks pretty decent so far! (Amiga)
A late hour Commodore Amiga news story has just appeared, as we've recently found out through through Facebook, that HooGames2017 has made available a playable test version of his in development Amiga game 'Dr.Dangerous'. A game that has already gained positive feedback such as "Wow! From the first few seconds, you can see that it will be a standout title, character and style in abundance" and "Great character animation and very nice graphics". To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video of the game below.
Dragonwood - A lovely looking WIP game by Steril707 for the Atari XL/XE, first alpha download!
Another retro gaming article to keep you company and yes we've certainly had a crazy week of it, is a brand new game (alpha) for the Atari XL/XE called 'Dragonwood. This latest addition to a long list of enjoyable games that we have seen for this system. Is a new game from Steril707 in which you have traverse deadly locations, while avoiding nasty traps and enemies that will deal you harm. To coincide with this news, Saberman has also done a video showing the game in action.
Skinvaders (Prototype) - Yet another Space Invaders clone for the Commodore Amiga
We've seen lots of Space Invader variants over the years, from Havie's Blitz Basic version of the game on the Amiga, to our personal favourite from Pink/Abyss called 'Tiny Invaders'. Well yet again we've been sent another version of Space Invaders for you to download and try out, and it's Electric Black Sheep's latest update of Skinvaders'; A game in which the creator says is a simple game as a small size simple code developed prototype. To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a short gameplay video of the game in action.
3D Deathchase for MSX - A homage to a classic ZX Spectrum game, gets an Alpha
The MSX community are certainly no strangers to quality releases on the MSX, especially with so many great games released through the MSXdev competition. Well today's news is equally special for the MSX community, as we've recently found out through Liqmatrix, that you can download an early alpha version of the work in progress game of '3D Deathchase' by The Retro Programmer; A homage to a classic ZX Spectrum game that was rated the number 1 on Your Sinclair top 100 back in the day.

EON AMIGA AGA - Another video shown of this rather eye opening in-dev Amiga port
Another Amiga news story has appeared in our inbox that's worthy of a mention, as if you remember when we posted about the upcoming game called 'EON', which is an Amiga AGA game that looks very much like the classic Shadow of the Beast. Then as of this weekend the developers AmigaWave and Goblin have posted a brand new video! For those of you who haven't heard of this game before, it was apparently released way back in 2014 by Worderboy Bobi, as a short playable PC demo, inspired by games such as Shadow of the Beast or Lion Heart and classed as an action RPG with skill and items progression.
WarpGate - An early mock up Run'n'Gun possibly coming to the Amiga 1200?
With it being Monday and lots of games to feature, the first one to be mentioned as a heads up from Per Ola, is the mock up 'Run'n'Gun' game called WarpGate. Although the game does have some early footage viewable below or linked here, according to the creator Marchie and his friend who is behind this game. They are hoping to release it for the Amiga 1200 with the hope to release it on other platforms as well down the line. To coincide with the news, the team behind the game have shown what has been created so far using DPaint.
Supercars 2 AGA - A rebuilt & adapted to Amiga AGA ripped from Supercars International 1996 (Early Alpha v4!)
Way back in 2014 JOTD released the PC version of "Super Cars III" ; a game which was his own remake of the hit action racing classic "Super Cars II". Originally developed by Magnetic Fields and published by Gremlin Graphics in the early 90's for Amiga & Atari ST. Well fast forward to today however and do we have some rather interesting news for you. As JOTD has just released an early work in progress alpha version of Supercars 2 AGA; A rebuilt & adapted to AGA ripped from Supercars International 1996. A game which in itself was a re-make of Super Cars II (tweaked gameplay, updated 256-color VGA graphics and a new soundtrack).
Pitfall II: Lost Caverns - Earok has released an early Alpha version of the 1980's classic for the Amiga
Streamers and Youtubbers are going to have a lot to talk about this weekend, as not only is there a beta version of Turbo Sprint for you to try, but there's a work in progress video for Duckstroma, an incredible beta release of Tinyus which is basically an Arcade quality port of Gradius, and now thanks to Earok letting us know, you can also play the latest alpha of Pitfall 2 The Lost Caverns. A port of the 1980's classic which was originally released for the Atari 2600, Apple II, Arcade, Atari 5200, Atari 8-bit, ColecoVision, Commodore 64, MSX, IBM PCjr, SG-1000, Color Computer and ZX Spectrum!
Witch Rescue Service - First teaser shown of an early alpha C64 game
Although we usually wait for games to have a little more development time before showing them on Indie Retro News, one such game that caught our eye that was worth a mention even at such an early stage of development is Carl-Henrik's C64 game 'Witch Rescue Service'; a platformer from Space Moguls creator that has already got positive feedback to continue after showing just a one week project!
Robot Jet Action - An upcoming game created by C64portal.pl for the C64 gets a new update tease
Even more C64 games to get through this week, as we've been informed by Tomek that the upcoming game 'Robot Jet Action' by C64Portal, has been shown off with another teaser preview giving us a new look at the gameplay, level creation, worlds, music, character design and enemies. Although they do state some aspects of the gameplay may change as development progresses.

Boss Machine - Upcoming Amiga shoot em up looks seriously cool
Another great day for retro gamers and more especially if you have a Commodore Amiga, as we've just been informed by Kevin through our Commodore Amiga Facebook group, that the cool looking Shoot em up of ' Boss Machine ', has been teased again with new footage. As mentioned by our previous write up even though the game is using temporary assets from other games which will be changing with every new video update, Boss Machine is a high quality AGA shoot em up in development by Daniel Stephens, Kevin Saunders and Lee Smith, that will probably look different from the early teaser videos.
Wonder Boy is coming to the Atari XL/XE! (WIP Download)
When I was a wee lad spending all my money down at the Arcades, one such game I used to love was that fantastic platformer ' Wonder Boy ' designed by Ryuichi Nishizawa. Instead of those later Wonder Boy games which became more of an adventure platformer with RPG elements. This game was all about a boy who at times rode a skateboard, jumped rocks, and with axe in hand delt with snails, snakes and even bats!
Victory Heat Rally - Unofficial spiritual successor to Power Drift gets an early alpha
I'll say it now, this in development game from @SandwichColonel and @skydevilpalm looks super cool! As if you loved playing the Sega classic Power Drift from 1988, then you'll be pleased to know this game looks to be an unofficial spiritual successor. Although the game is still being created using gamemaker, the person behind the game has announced you can now download an early playable version before a Kickstarter is launched down the line.
Arkagis Revolution - Mode 7-like shooter coming to the Sega Mega Drive
If you have a Sega Genesis or Sega Mega Drive, there's a new game coming that you might be interested in. As trawling through our twitter feeds we've come across a game called 'Arkagis Revolution ' by Sik. This game according to the press kit, is a new action game for Sega Genesis/Mega Drive with mode-7 like rotation. You play as Lyn, a pilot from the rebels in the Martian nation of Arkagis, in an attempt to free Arkagis from the control of the United Space Colonies (USC).
Wonder Girl in Monster Place - An updated Amiga game tease by Moya
Once again another Amiga game has been mentioned, as we've just come across a post on our Commodore Amiga Facebook group, of an updated game tease by Moya called Wonder Girl in Monster Place(WIP title). This game which had an early tease some time back, is an action platformer developed using Backbone, and stars a character resembling Jill of the Jungle which pits you against multiple enemies including sword welding Skeleton foes.
Quasarius Rush - New Amiga Shoot em up announced, wip tease!
Inviyya and Geometrical Blast are just two of the Shoot em ups that we previously announced as coming to an Amiga near you at some point in the near future. But now after a heads up by Per Ola, another Amiga game has appeared and is a work in progress, and that's Rafael Lima's ' Quasarius Rush '; a top scrolling shoot em up that has been shown off in this latest footage, giving us an early glimpse at the first level.
Geometrical Blast - An early shoot em up project from Alain Treesong
The Amiga is doing well for Shoot em up homebrews this year, what with Reshoot R and SkillGrid to name but a few. But now another game has appeared to join this years short list of kick ass blasters. As thanks to a heads up by Saberman, we've been told of an early project announcement for the Amiga game called 'Geometrical Blast'; An upcoming Amiga title developed using Amos, which will hopefully work on a Commodore Amiga 500 (512kp Chip / 512ko fast) and above.
