Only moments ago after coming back from my health break ( thanks for all the nice comments! ), we were contacted by Saberman, that he has done a new video of a previously unreleased Amiga game called ' World Warrior '. Now from what we can tell, this game was developed by Keith and according to him, World Warrior was originally a working yet unfinished title, and the game is to Street Fighter 2 what Blaze is to Sonic: a blatant rip off.

World Warrior - An unreleased Amiga game sees the light of day
Only moments ago after coming back from my health break ( thanks for all the nice comments! ), we were contacted by Saberman, that he has done a new video of a previously unreleased Amiga game called ' World Warrior '. Now from what we can tell, this game was developed by Keith and according to him, World Warrior was originally a working yet unfinished title, and the game is to Street Fighter 2 what Blaze is to Sonic: a blatant rip off.
Blask - First person shooter Amiga tech demo update
There's just no stopping us this morning, as after already mentioning the latest retro news, here's a new Amiga tech demo called 'Blask (eng. Shine?, Glow?, Glare?)', or as its previous name 'Alien Enemy: Dangerous Alien', which is a new improved demo with updated movements. To coincide with this news for what looks like a very early work in progress first person shooter, not only has Saberman done a gameplay video, but you can download the AMOS test version below!
EON AMIGA AGA - First internal WIP test shown of a rather eye opening in-dev Amiga port
Just as I was going to bed I was given the heads up via Twitter from our good friend @edu_arana, that AmigaWave had just announced the first showing of a new Amiga port, which looks very much like the classic Shadow of the Beast, but instead is called EON. This game of which I've never heard of before, was apparently released way back in 2014 by Worderboy Bobi, as a short playable demo, inspired by games such as Shadow of the Beast or Lion Heart and classed as an action RPG with skill and items progression.
Cow & Chicken - Protovision teases a work in progress C64 game
Not to be outdone the C64 has also had some new games to play this week, as we've also learnt from Saberman that Protovision have released a very early teaser of a game called ' Cow & Chicken '. Now unlike the other games we've mentioned, this alpha download is purely to demonstrate the new player control system and movement engine, although you can select each character and view the different screens in the game itself.
Toki - In dev Amstrad version of an Arcade classic gets Alpha footage
It's the year of the Toki, as after already mentioning the fact that the 1989 arcade shooter classic of Toki was being remade for the ZX Spectrum, and that it was also being created for the Amstrad CPC. We are pleased to give a shout out from AGGP to show off the first Alpha footage of their Amstrad version with backgrounds, animation, and a battle with an end of level boss!
Super Pumpkin Bros - An old preview of an unfinished Amiga game
Rise of the Pumpkin isn't the only game mentioned today, as thanks to a heads up by Saberman and DamienD we've come across an Amiga game called Super Pumpkin Bros, which was first announced way back in 2007 and released around about that time. Now this game sadly is just a preview and was never finished, but thanks to Damien it's been revisited and has since been uploaded as an ADF so Gotek owners can have a go themselves.
Heaven's Point - A Retro Adventure Brawler - Alpha Demo Now Available
Are you a fan of the classic River City Ransom game? Like a little adventure in your brawler? If so, you must check out the early Alpha demo from Digital Punch titled Heaven's Point. Just watch the short trailer video and you'll see why this vibrant 2D pixel art side scroller will quickly become your next gaming addiction.
Iridium - Unofficial fan based remake of Uridium gets new alpha footage
I'm sure many of you are aware by now of Hewson Consultants upcoming ' Hyper Sentinel ', which is a high grade modern version of the retro classic Uridium due next month. But you probably didn't know there is also another version out there giving us that Uridium vibe which is called ' Iridium '. This game that we have mentioned before, is an unofficial fan based PC remake, and is currently being developed by James Roberts shown off as a new alpha build.
Wonderboy - A fan game based on a classic as alpha for the Amiga
A long time ago at the Arcades, I used to love playing the fantastic platformer ' Wonder Boy ' designed by Ryuichi Nishizawa. It started its life as a skateboard rock jumping and axe bashing platformer, that later became the great adventure platformer with RPG elements known as ' Wonderboy in Monster Land '. Both of these games have lived on in the hearts of many, and as such, one fan is developing his own Wonderboy game but this time for the Amiga.
Jetpac - Unofficial remake of a ZX classic in dev for Sega Mega Drive
We were recently contacted by Sebastian Racedo of a new game that is in development for the Sega Mega Drive which is a remake of the classic Jetpac from the ZX Spectrum but developed by a brotherly team Toki999 and Exkyo from out of Uruguay. This early alpha in dev footage update shows a glimpse of how far the remake has come, and also as a hope that viewers will give their feedback as an incentive to continue for a finished release.
Super Stardust Preview - An Amiga shoot em up on the C64? Well sort of
In 1994 Team 17 published the sequel ' Super Stardust ' for the Amiga AGA and Amiga CD32. it was regarded by many as a very good Asteroids game, with slick graphics and sound you just couldn't help but tell your friends about. Well now all these years ahead, and this week a coder by the name of Jupp3 has shown what the tunnel part of the game might've looked like if it was released on the C64. Just be warned it does require a ram expansion ( Winvice-settings-cartridge-reu settings) and is pretty much a pre-alpha project.
Red Baron 3000 Preview - Onslaught teases a C64 game that could've been awesome
Throughout this week a few previews had appeared that didn't really take to my fancy, but one such C64 game called Red Baron 3000 Preview, took me completely by surprise. Released by Onslaught earlier on today, Red Baron 3000 is a top scrolling shooter with very impressive graphical effects and simultaneous music and sfx. According to GTW, this game was by Hein Holt who was inspired by the parallax effects of Flimbos Quest and Hawkeye 2, but sadly was cancelled when a major rework was required to try and free up more memory for the game.
Wolfenstein/RPG engine previewed on the Amstrad CPC
This isn't something you see every day, a new engine previewed on the Amstrad CPC, and not just any engine either, the classic 1992 ID Software's 'Wolfenstein' or in the case of this engine, Wolfenstein/RPG created by Optimus. This preview gives us a first hand look of what the developer had planned in a game but never finished last year; a smooth dungeon crawler with free movement, which can be regarded as a pre-alpha state.
Towering Inferno - Intellivision homebrew with a burning movie inspiration
This could well be our first Intellivision homebrew as only just last month, the developer Kiwi announced a brand new Intellivision game called ' Towering Inferno ', which is inspired by the movie Towering Inferno. Currently in an early stage of development, the developer was originally going to make a top down game called ' Venture ' however after seeing a clip of inferno for the Atari 2600 on Facebook he decided to change over from Venture and convert the engine over to this new game.
BUTCHER - A bloody gory 2D shooter game available as a prototype
Welcome to the bloodiest and most fast paced 2D shooter we've posted this week, a game that is a blood-soaked love letter to the early 90's by Transhuman Design (creators of Soldat and King Arthur's Gold). It is also a mix and mash of Doom blended in with a bit of the classic Abuse, this is 'BUTCHER', a freely available prototype for PC and Linux that is also available to play in your browser. Prepare for carnage, it's going to get really messy.
DreadStar - A wicked PC shoot em up that's in development with ZX Spectrum tunes!
Growing up there was nothing more satisfying than playing top down scrolling shoot em ups such as the fantastic classic Tyrian 2000, which is also available on GOG. I'm also a bit of a sucker for bullet hell shooters that just don't stop with the constant flood of bullets across your gaming screen. But this game ' DreadStar 'by AugmentedIrreality takes the best out of this genre, adds a few unique gaming touches and includes a high grade chiptune soundtrack. This game is also in development as early access but does give you a taste of what to come as a free PC download.
Saturn Icarus - Work in progress retro inspired first person shooter
Don't get me wrong the latest Doom release is a damn fine game, but in all honesty I prefer playing the much older types, the original Wolfenstein 3D or in fact the original Doom released back in the early 90's. So it stands to reason why I just had to play Mischa's first person retro inspired game ' Saturn Icarus ', that's available to download on the PC. Please be aware however that it is a work in progress title and as such a lot of what makes these games so good is missing.
XYDONIA - High quality shoot 'em up gets a new demo and Greenlight success!
More great news today from the developer Breaking Bytes, as not only is their high grade retro gaming inspired shoot em up ' XYDONIA ', a Steam Greenlight success, but they are doing rather well so far via Kickstarter and have launched an Alpha Version 2 Demo! If you love side scrolling shoot em ups, and the names R-Type, Project-X, Gradius or Darius pull you back into an era of power ups, waves of enemies, eye blasting graphics and mass explosions, then XYDONIA is a game you've just got to play!
Pietro Brothers - A New ZX Spectrum Game Demo!
So there's these plumbers... these Italian plumbers, who are brothers, and they live in some sort of platform game world in which they are pestered by horribly mutated crabs and tortoises... Not sure that will ever catch on, but it hasn't stopped C M Gonzalez from starting work on a game based around the Pietro Brothers. The game was teased on the World of Spectrum forums earlier today, where the creator said he would try to finish the game, but needs someone to help out with the sound - so if any AY musicians are reading and want to get involved, follow the link below.
Dragon Bros - Pixelated blaster is in development and it looks FUN!
Space Lizard have just given us the heads up, for a new game that is in development that has been shown off in a trailer and demo prototype. Titled ' Dragon Bros ', and due for release for consoles and PC end of Summer 2016. This looks to be a rather enjoyable frantic run n gun action shooter, with nice pixel art, that they say is inspired by the classics such as Metal Slug and Contra. If you love collecting items, blasting away anything in your path, and like playing with a friend, then it might be worth your time playing the latest released demo.
