The Retro Collection - My lifes story!

This may bore some of you, especially with the negative side, but for others you may get that extra bit of nostalgia, so here goes. Through all these years of having to deal with Autism, OCD and the more recently diagnosed Post Traumatic Stress Disorder due to a long childhood of bullying and other personal issues still taking it's toll on my mental state, there's one thing I've always kept strong to, which isn't just my family and normal gaming. My retro collection, the great Amiga 500 and of cause the Amiga 1200 oh and the even older Amstrad CPC. Through a very young age I was always fascinated by computers, I remember getting the green screen Amstrad CPC 464 and although not such a great programmer I loved buying all those cool games. Hearing that squealing tape, the wavy lines and finally after ever so many minutes, the game screen. Which was either Dizzy or Green Beret! Fast forward to this year and..

Zool Compilation - One of Amiga's best selling Platformer, now for your PC!

If Rick Dangerous didn't wet your retro appetite, here comes another classic platforming game. A game so well received it became one of Amiga's best selling titles! Zool was intended as a rival to Sega's Sonic the Hedgehog and also hyped upon its initial release, including being bundled with the newly launched Amiga 1200. The AGA version with enhanced graphics followed later. Also to note Zool had a top quality developer and publisher to it's name, Gremlin. In this game you control Zool, who is a rather strange Ninja from the Nth dimension, forced to land on Earth and pass through seven lands of Candyland. Both Zool 1 and Zool 2 are very good Platformers and that they have great graphics and great gameplay. And now thanks to The Company.pl you can play these amazing Amiga classics on your PC.
Game Type : Platformer
Games In Compilation : Zool, Zool 2

Recommended Youtubers for retro hardware goodness Lazy Game Reviews, Kooky Tech....

As you well know, this site is very much based on both the Indie and Retro side of gaming goodness, especially with my era going back to the 80's. Well just recently, I was checking through some of the best Youtubers, looking for some great hardware reviews of Retro systems. Well sure enough I found them, and although I don't usually plug other peoples views, this comes as an exception. I never had a C64, nor did I have a ZX Spectrum, but I did have an Amstrad cpc 464 and then onto an Amiga. There is something missing nowadays, as when I was a kid, there was complete excitement just going into a store and buying the latest magazine or seeing rows and rows of tapes at just £2.99. Or the large Amiga boxes full of colour, lots of floppies and spin wheels donating the games anti-protection. Such good times, such awesome games.... So if you are looking to buy a Retro computer system, either an 8bit or 16/32bit then enjoy the videos below!

My new toy an Amiga 1200, but it wasn't an enjoyable ride!

Ever since I was a kid, I've always at some point had an Amiga 500 in storage. Sadly, my first Amiga 500 was dropped on the floor, thus with smashed keys I chucked every bit of it away, including the games. I've regretted that till this day, especially as the Amiga 500 gave me so much enjoyment with long term gaming sessions through the early 90's. Fast forward to now and it was time to go full pelt, and go back into the world of 32bit gaming, but this time with a vastly superior system, the Amiga 1200! Unlike the 500 this beauty of a system can be upgraded in so many ways, from 4GB cf cards to processor and huge memory upgrades. You thought the 1/2MB expansion was big on the Amiga 500, try 128MB on the 1200!
