Welcome to the story of the Commodore Amiga by Nostalgia Nerd - Part 2

Ladies and Gentlemen and Amiga fan boys around the world, Nostalgia Nerd is back with another Amiga video! Previously we mentioned the Part 1 video of ' The Amiga Story ' which went in great detail about the Amiga's history including the late 80's, the systems such as the A500 and the team behind the Amiga. But this time in part 2 Nostalgia Nerd is delving into the 90's, when the Amiga peaked, some of the great games and finally its regrettable demise. So sit back, turn it up and shed a tear at one of the best era's of gaming, the 90's!

A1200.Net compatible Keycaps for Amiga computers is a Kickstarter success!

It's with great pleasure and excitement to announce A1200.net's Kickstarter campaign for the Amiga keycaps is now a Kickstarter success! What that means is after the very successful crowd funding campaign for the latest Amiga cases also by A1200.net, which gave you a choice of wicked case colours such the special perks by Scoopex and Skidrow, you'll now be able to make the case complete with a brand new set of coloured keycaps! So basically no longer will you have to put up with a yellow Amiga, nor will you have to hard mod your case to fit accessories or worry about a dodgy respray job.

A1200.Net compatible Keycaps for Amiga computers still needs your support

During this year we've always tried to keep you up to date with the latest happenings with A1200.net and their Amiga case and Keycap Kickstarters. And so we announced the very successful crowd funding campaign for the latest Amiga cases which at this time is still on course for a December delivery which includes your choice of colours pledged during the campaign. But there is a downside to all of this and that isn't any possible delays, but the keycap Kickstarter is still only at $77,080 pledged of a $102,000 goal. Which means for the time being you'll get a lovely new case and accessories but not so much the beauty of the cases teased in the video below.

A1200.Net launches compatible Keycaps for Amiga computers - Kickstarter!

This year in terms of life's experiences has been pretty awful, what with my own relationship at the brink of destruction, so you can probably understand why this news update was a bit late, even if it did cheer me up just that little bit. Well here it is, after months and months of writing up the new Amiga case kickstarter which was a resounding success, the same project lead A1200.net has during the weekend announced the Keycap campaign Kickstarter to go with the Amiga cases that are now in the manufacturing stage. Yes you heard that right, Amiga owners across the globe will finally be able to not only have a new Amiga case but an entire set of lovely keycaps in a multitude of different colours!

New AMIGA 1200 Cases - The brand new Amiga case is nearly here!

Remember when we did the BIG design process feature for A1200.net's new Amiga 1200 Cases? You do good! Because we've got more fresh news as they have officially announced the molds assembly is almost done at 95%. Also as an extra bonus they've manufactured a couple of cases to check and adjust the molds. Basically if you've been wondering these last few months what's been happening to your new Amiga case, worry no longer it's nearly here. ( New exclusive images! )

New AMIGA Compatible Keycaps - Kickstarter announcement!

Right from the word go, we've done our very best to keep you up to date on A1200.Net's A1200 Amiga case Kickstarter. From the very first shout out regarding the brand new Amiga cases in a multitude of colours and allowable mods and the Kickstarter success, to the latest mold process, everything has been mentioned to keep you in the loop. But now have we got even better news, as the new Amiga compatible Keycaps Kickstarter will hopefully be launching 15th September, as currently the campaign creators are not willing to launch the new campaign before manufacturing the cases.

RESHOOT: A new Amiga shoot´em-up coming 2016 is playable on a real A1200!

Another game that was mentioned and one I think might be a bit of hit with the Amiga gamers, is Richard Lowenstein, Adam Morten and Kevin Saunders Shoot em up ' RESHOOT ', which hopefully is coming this year to the A1200, A4000 and CD32. Although it was said to be coming to these systems before it wasn't until this month that the developers officially announced the game was working on real hardware with just 2 MB of RAM!

New AMIGA 1200 Cases - The new Amiga case Kickstarter needs YOUR help!

Throughout this month and last we have been featuring possibly the coolest Amiga Kickstarter that has been the talk of the site ever since we first announced it back in Sept (link). That's right NO MORE YELLOW! What's more not only are there special editions available, but these cases have compatibility with the A1200 Reloaded / Raspberry Pi / MiST and more! Duke Nukem 3D - AGA port for the Amiga released!

Although it's rare, there are occasions when we miss out on the latest Amiga releases, which is usually because we don't get the news sent to us, or it involves a lot more than delving into the depths of a hard forum discussion. Well thankfully one of our readers by the name of Solo Kazuki has sent us a number of Amiga updates with one of them announcing the release of the NovaCoder's Duke Nukem 3D AGA port for the Amiga.  Originally released in the 90's for the PC and other's, this port has been found by NovaCoder on his hard drive and works on the Amiga 1200 and above.

New AMIGA 1200 Cases - The rebirth of a fantastic new Amiga case Kickstarter!

When I was growing up one of the computers that I strongly remember other than my Amstrad CPC 464 was the 90's Amiga, from the A500 to the A1200 both of them such incredible computers that it pretty much made me the gamer I am today. An SD Card Interface for your Amiga? Oh Yes!

Through all these years of owning an Amiga, especially the ones with internal hard drives such as an original drive or CF, there has always been a few issues which have been a royal pain for certain users. Some of those annoyances is the fact that you either have to use a PCMCIA adapter with SD Card, take the Amiga apart and remove the CF, or there is also the rather expensive ACA500. However this is set to change with Ferix's new hard drive hardware device called the 'SD Card Interface', which plugs into a parallel port of any Amiga!

Boxx 2 - Lemming880 releases a fun homebrew sequel for the Amiga

As an Amiga owner and a fan of homebrew releases I was pleasantly surprised by the latest release of 'Boxx 2'; a new Amiga title developed by Lemming880 of EAB that features more than it's fair share of fun. A run and jump platform game developed in backbone where your goal is to collect all the coins and kill the baddies. Boxx 2 features worthy enough detail, bright colours and cool game play which would usually be found from indie developers on such sites as Gamejolt. A fun game indeed and one that works well enough even on the Amiga 500 & Amiga 1200.
