In 1984 a great shoot 'em up was released for the Arcade by Capcom and that game was 1942. A game in which you had to shoot down enemy planes, avoid being shot out of the sky and performed awesome rolls while collecting power ups. Well if you remember this fine game ( I know I do! ), you may be interested to know that Al Nafuur has not only released a work in progress demake of the game for the Atari 2600 developed in Batari Basic, but it looks mighty impressive indeed!

Yet again Arlasoft is in the retro gaming news, as checking our emails we've just been given the heads up direct from the website, that Arlasoft has released the Atari 2600 to C64 conversion/port of Ruffcorn and Telesys 1982 game of Fast Food. TURBO ARCADE - An awesome racing game is coming 2022 to your Atari 2600, demo now available
If however you don't have a ZX Spectrum but instead an Atari 2600 then you might like this piece of news, as trawling through Facebook, we've just come across this awesome looking racing game for the Atari 2600 called Turbo Arcade. Although the game isn't due to be released until 2022, Champ Games have at least released a demo for you to try which gives you an early look at this upcoming racing game which when complete, will feature 99 rounds and hundreds of scenes to race through.
Spider Fighter - A new C64 game as a remake of the 1982 Atari 2600 shooter
Waking up just moments ago, we've just been told via Facebook, that if you want to play the latest in Atari 2600 remakes on your C64, then you might want to play the C64 action shooter game called 'Spider Fighter'; A remake of the Atari 2600 game which was originally designed by Larry Miller for the Atari 2600 and published by Activision in 1982. The same designer behind the Atari 2600 racing game Enduro, which was later released in 1983.

GOLD RUSH - Sequel to KEYSTONE KAPERS is coming to the Atari 2600 and C64
Great news Atari 2600 and C64 owners as thanks to Per Ola letting us know, we have found out that the in development game of ' Gold Rush ' is coming to the Atari 2600 and C64. What makes this news rather special isn't just the fact that this is the sequel to the great Atari 2600 game Keystone Kapers, but the Atari 2600 version is being developed by Dan Kitchen, and the C64 version is being developed by Antonio Savona and team; the same team who were also behind the C64 versions of Fix It Felix Jr and Chopper Command.

We've certainly had our fair share of conversions and ports over to the C64 this year, especially with games being mentioned such Atic Atac, Fire, Crackpots, King's Valley+ and even Donkey Kong Jr Game and Watch to name but many we've had the pleasure of playing. Well now another game has appeared in our inbox, albiet a bit late by us (woops sorry!), as both Saberman and Milo has told us Arla Games have converted/ported Megamania from the Atari 2600 over to the C64.
Frostbite - Atari to C64 conversion #3 from Chopper Command team gets a release!
Great news for this rather cold and frosty Sunday, as we've just been told by Antonio Savona, that the same team behind the Atari to C64 conversion of Chopper Command and the previously released Keystone Kapers. Has now announced the release of the next game in the trilogy line up, as the classic game 'Frostbite'; A game originally released by Steve Cartwright for the Atari 2600, and published by Activision way back in 1983!
Dragonfire ZX - Another Atari 2600 to ZX Spectrum port by Luca Bordoni
Another ZX Spectrum port to grace our speccy screens and again from Luca Bordoni using AGDX, is the Atari 2600 game Dragonfire, which was first released in 1982 as another game by Imagic. Yes indeed get ready to play another port, but unlike the other game we mentioned previously, this one puts you in control of a guy who must steal the treasure from a fire breathing dragon while also avoiding deadly fireballs!
Combat - Atari 2600 two player tank battler has arrived on the Atari 8bit
Great news indeed especially if you grew up on the Atari 2600 as well as the much later Atari 8bit as you'll be overjoyed to hear Avery "Phaeron" Lee has released the Atari 2600 classic ' Combat ' over to the Atari 8bit. This well known game and a collectors item for fans of that era, will be pleased to know this is a conversion of Atari Inc's 1977 game and is completely free to download and play with up two players!
Assembloids 2600 - Fast-paced reaction puzzle game, PAL and NTSC binaries this weekend
Atari 2600 gamers you may be interested in this news update, as we've just been told by Martin Wendt that the fast paced action reaction puzzle game of ' Assembloids 2600 ' which was made by Martin restricted to just 4k, will be available in binarie form PAL and NTSC as from this weekend. Assembloids was and still is available for sale on the atariage website, and gathered some very favourable reviews as a fully fledged cartridge release.
Rays' Reprisal - Atari 2600 Yars Revenge will be released on the ZX Spectrum soon!

Draconian - An awesome 1980's multi-directional shooter appears on the Atari 2600 (RC6)
Way back in 1981 many of us has the pleasure of playing the multi-directional arcade shooter of 'Bosconian', which was developed by Namco and put you in control of a space ship to score as many points as possible by destroying enemy missiles and bases while also avoiding asteroids, mines and other such ship destroying objects. If you remember that awesome game you'll be pleased to know the Atari 2600 arcade clone of 'Draconian' has reached a public build version RC6 and will be finished very soon!
