Another retro heads up for you all, as Tom has just let us know through our Indie Retro News inbox, that frodewin has released the new and improved C64 version of the short and enjoyable adventure game of Babylon's Ark; a game which was not only shown at the Vintage Computing Carinthia $16 event, but it was available as a hardware cartridge ("Space Collection", with three other games) for the Commodore 64 available at Bobr Games and Protovision.

We've mentioned a number of text entry based adventure games over the years, from games such as Venganza and Spooky Adventure, to Knight Orc and Masquerade. As we've just been contacted by XeNoMoRPH, that as from today, you can download the latest game Amstrad CPC release of ART WAR developed by Amstrad Sakis. To coincide with this news, the creator has released a new video showing the gameplay of this simple text adventure game whereby you have to make the correct choices in order to finish the game.

Athanor 2 - The Legend Of The Birdmen - A new Amiga game is available grab your copy before it's too late!
Although we informed you some time ago that the Amiga game Athanor 2 - The Legend of the Birdmen was a fabulous looking Adventure game that was programmed in C and is the sequel to the 2015-2016 game 'Athanor' which was also released on the Amstrad CPC, ORIC and yes even the C64. But as a more recent heads up from our good friend Tony Aksnes, he has told us that the game is being sold fast with a limited amount of copies available. In fact it wouldn't surprise me if there was any left going by this article going live.

But a NES version of the game is in development, as well as a brand new port for the Commodore Amiga by Vesa Halttunen. I've always been an Adventure gamer on both my Amiga and PC, and have such fond memories of games such as The Secret of Monkey Island, Simon the Sorcerer, Fable, Kings Quest and even the Quest for Glory series. In fact one such game I remember and always recommend as one of the top 10 Adventure games to play is the early 90's game Quest for Glory IV: Shadows of Darkness! I know that I hark on about licensed games not being very good, but the truth is that there are some really good licensed games out there. And today, we’re going to review one such game based on a movie I quite like (which is, by itself, based on a novel by Frank Herbert). I’m talking about Dune (based on David Lynch’s movie of the same name). Dune is an adventure/strategy game developed by Cryo Interactive and published by Virgin Games. It was originally released in 1992 for the Commodore Amiga and DOS. It was re-released the following year in CD-ROM format for DOS and the Sega Mega-CD/Sega CD.

As we've recently been informed through our email, that Red Martyr Entertainment's psychological horror point and click adventure game of 'Saint Kotar ' is coming to Epic, GOG and Steam as of October 28th. A game that draws its inspiration from the classics such as Broken Sword, Monkey Island and by the works from horror fiction writers such as H.P. Lovecraft and Edgar Allan Poe.
