Double Dragon - Beat em up enhanced for the Atari 7800

In 1987-1988 a fantastic beat 'em up video game developed by Technōs Japan and distributed in North America and Europe by Taito was to take centre stage with two-player cooperative gameplay and the ability to use weapons from disarmed enemies. ' Double Dragon ' as it was titled, was one of the greatest beat em ups I've ever played on the Amiga, and it would probably come as a surprise that it was also ported over to a vast array of other systems. Today's news is the latest update release for KevinMos3's enhanced edition of Double Dragon, but for the Atari 78000 which brings it more in line with the Arcade original.

BAD ASS BABES - Episode 1 of a live action fighting game! (+18)

Before you get all worried and think we have been taken over by a dirty site, we haven't, nor have we gone completely insane. But what we have found is a 2D retro styled fighting game using live action sprites called 'BAD ASS BABES' by Thatcher Productions that was officially released on Gamejolt as episode 1. A very cheesy game indeed with some nudity contained within, you have a choice from a selection of ladies that must fight their way through mutant soldiers and hybrid alien experiments, to put an end to the alien race.

Street Fighter II - The REAL CPC Edition is in development!

Cast your minds way back to 1992 when Capcom's eagerly awaited beat em up ' Street Fighter 2 ' finally appeared on the C64 and ZX Spectrum. At least a year and a half later if not more , the Amstrad version was supposed to be coming to the Amstrad CPC, at least according to Amstrad Action. Yet for some reason, perhaps the development was scrapped it never appeared. Many years later, a homebrew port from the Gameboy version did appear on the Amstrad CPC by Hermol but many felt that it wasn't a true reflection of the Amstrad's detail. Fast forward to 2013-2015 and a very impressive homebrew remake titled 'Street Fighter II - CPC Edition' is being developed by DaDMaN, McKlain and AugustoRuiz for the Amstrad CPC 6128 (128Kb RAM).

Duck Out - An actual Amstrad CPC game in the works!

Over these last few days a few members have been commenting that we don't do enough Amstrad CPC releases, which to be fair is true, however this is difficult for us because there hasn't really been any new CPC titles to talk about unlike the C64 and ZX Spectrum. But today we do have a game to show you called 'Duck Out', originally by Dro Soft that is currently being ported to the Amstrad CPC!

Target Renegade Mod - Enhanced beat em up for the ZX Spectrum

In 1988 Ocean Software ( Imagine Label ) released a fine beat em up for the Amstrad CPC, C64 and ZX Spectrum. It was a great title that featured both single player and two player fighting with you playing as street fighters known only as Renegade, in a revenge against a kingpin named "Mr. Big" for murdering their brother. But today's news sees the release of a 'Target Renegade Mod' by R.M (Ralf) which not only enhances the colours throughout the game, but also gives it new backgrounds, more challenging game play and a higher number of enemies to fight.

Knuckle Busters 29D - C64 arcade beat em up cracked by Hackersoft

In 1986 Melbourne House released an arcade beat em up for the C64 called Knuckle Buster. It was a frustrating and rather poor title with repetitive respawning enemies, lacklustre fighting mechanics and tedious jumping levels. The only saving grace was the brilliant sound track by the legend that is Rob Hubbard. Yet if it wasn't for Hackersoft's latest cracked update of the game which features many new additions, I probably would not have touched the game again today.
