Gunfright Ultimate Edition V1.10 - Ultimate Play the Game classic as a port gets an update
During this year Indie Retro News has been keeping you up to date on the latest port news that has been released on the Atari 8bit or C64. One such port which took us by surprise for example, was the latest C64, C128 and Plus4 port of the ZX Spectrum game ' Gunfright ', which was first released back in the 80's by Ultimate Play the Game and then later ported over to the Atari 800 as a Z80 to 6502 conversion by MariusZX. That same C64, C128 and Plus4 port which was based on that Atari 800 conversion has once again appeared in our news feeds, but this time as a further improved release by Rod & Emu.
Argus - Dungeon Crawling style C64/128 Adventure gets new gameplay footage
Once again it's time to mention the C64/C128 this week as Trevor Story has shown off the latest gameplay updates for their in development Adventure game in a Dungeon Crawler style of ' Argus ', which will be released by Psytronik Software at some point soon. Coded by Achim Volkers, music and sfx by Saul Cross, art and design by Trevor Storey, and with a design flavour of the classic Psygnosis game 'Obitus' (hence the image above). This game will have you exploring new locations and battling mighty foes with a multitude of weapons.
Gunfright Ultimate Edition - Ultimate Play the Game classic is ported to the C64, C128 and Plus4!
If you were an Ultimate Play the Game fan in the 80's, then this latest news which has appeared in our inbox will blow your mind, as the Ultimate Play the Game classic of ' Gunfright ', has been fully ported over to the C64, C128 and Plus4! Through these last few years we've had a number of conversions and ports already, such as Pentagram for the Atari 8bit, then we had Pentagram ported to the C64. But now here we are again with another port, as this time Gunfright from 1985, which appeared on the ZX Spectrum, Amstrad CPC and MSX is now fully C64 playable by Rod & Emu!
VICE Version 3.0 - The Versatile Commodore Emulator with a big release!
The shockingly brilliant Amiga emulator WinUAE wasn't the only software that had a big final build today, as the versatile Commodore emulator ' VICE ' is now at version 3.0. Now many of you have seen all of our C64 game updates, well this is the software we used for both play testing and usable screenshots. In actual fact VICE runs on many different operating systems including Unix and emulates the C64DTV, the C128, the VIC20, practically all PET models, the PLUS4 and the CBM-II (aka C610/C510). No wonder it is called the versatile Commodore emulator.So read below and check out the changelog, this is a highly recommended download for all 8-bit gamers!
