I'm a huge top down racing fan, from games such as Micro Machines to Supercars and Indy Heat on the Amiga. Well here's another top down racing game you might like to try that was recently released on the Commodore 64, and it's 'Party Speedway' via K&A plus; A tiny sprite racing game that came 1st place at the WiLD Demo Competition at Teddy Beer C=64 Party. To coincide with this news, Saberman has done a new video where he crashes around the track a lot!
Shallow Domains - A brand new turn based strategy game for the C64 by Drmortalwombat
Even more C64 games to get through this week, as thanks to an early morning heads up via Saberman , we've been told that if you're looking to play something different, other than all the platformers and shoot 'em ups we've featured so far, it might be worth checking out Drmortalwombat's latest game of 'Shallow Domains'. A game that isn't just a turn based strategy, but the game is set in the year 2172 when a rogue piece of malware has infected next level machinery and it's down to you to put a stop to it!
Little Nippers Deluxe - A deluxe edition of the single button game Little Nippers for the C64
It was only just the other week that we featured many games that were announced via the 2022 Reset64 4kb 'Craptastic' Game Competition. Well fast forward to today and thanks to another heads up via Saberman, we've been told that one of those games called 'Little Nippers', has just been re-released as a deluxe edition by Richard Bayliss, Hugues (Ax!s) Poisseroux and Martin Piper for the C64. A new version of the game that has many more included features that couldn't be included in the original 4K compo entry. To coincide with this news, some new gameplay footage has been shown below.
Jungle Joe - A challenging yet enjoyable C64 puzzle platformer from Vector5games
If you're looking for another enjoyable C64 game to get you through the week and into the weekend, then we have just been informed by Saberman, that you can now download the C64 game of 'Jungle Joe' by Vector5games. A game that doesn't just put you in the boots of an explorer traversing dangerous landscapes to find the exit. But from the look of the game it smacks of high quality with lovely in game detail, dangerous enemies, nasty traps, and lots of challenges with a limited amount of ladders and bridges at your disposal.
The Curse of Rabenstein - High grade graphical text adventure gets a C64 40th Anniversary (Point and Click) Edition!
If you fancy loading up a bit of horror this weekend, then make sure to check out the latest 40th Anniversary (Point and Click) Edition of The Curse of Rabenstein by Stefan Vogt for the C64. A new edition of a game that was previously mentioned sometime back as a graphical text command based game for the C64, Plus/4, CPC, ZX Spectrum (+3, ESXDOS, Next), Amiga, Atari ST, DOS and PC. As if the retrogaming goodness doesn't stop there, as we've just found out via Twitter, that not only was there a 2022 Reset64 4kb 'Craptastic' Game Competition, but as of recently you can download not just one C64 4kb game, but over 25 of them! I mean seriously, there's just so many games you can play on your C64 right now, that for the first time in a long time we are not going to feature every single one separately.... I mean seriously they are all worth playing!

Ladies and Gentlemen, Amstrad owners across the globe! Mojon Twins creators of SGT.Helmet Training Day 2020 and CHE-MAN are back with another stunning retro gaming release. As we've just been told by XeNoMoRPH through our emails, that they have released a new game called 'Lala Prologue '; a game that isn't just an inspiration to the great The Mojon Twins NES game Lala The Magical, but was also a hit game by Digital Monastery for the C64, CPlus/4 & VIC-20.
New Rally-X64 - An Arcade conversion of Rally X for the C64 gets its first release candidate
It wasn't too long ago that many of us had the pleasure of playing Allan Turvey's Terrapins RX; a Rally X Remix demo which was based on the 1980 game by Namco and official conversion Maze Death Race which was released later in 1983 by PSS for the ZX Spectrum 16K! Well it's time for the C64 to get in on the Rally fun, as thanks to Saberman contacting us today, he has told us that Jake79 with music by Merman and sound effects by NM156, has made available the first release candidate of their Arcade conversion of Rally-X for the C64 called "New Rally-X64".
Lykia - The Lost Island - HOT NEWS as a HUGE C64/Plus4 Zelda-like open world adventure gets a release!
It's been some time since we had any Zelda style games on Indie Retro News, but thanks to a heads up from Puls4r Productions, we have just been told that the previously mentioned game of Lykia - The Lost Island. A high quality game for the C64, expanded C16 and Plus/4 which is full of Zelda-ish passion in FLIvision. Has just been released for free much to the surprise of many in the retro gaming community. 50th Anniversary of Atari Pong - Pong50(Amiga), Space Pong(Amiga) and PongClone(C64)
In the 1970's Bushnell and another guy called Alcorn released a Pong prototype at a local bar named Andy Capp's Tavern, yet it wasn't until 1975 and through a long history that Pong actually appeared in our homes, and on my very own Atari 2600. Thankfully others see Pong as a truly great game for its time and still loved to this day, as not only are we celebrating 50 years of the game, but there's also new releases of Pong50 and Space Pong for the Amiga, as well as PongClone for the C64!
QUOD INIT EXIT IIo - The sequel to a colourful C64 game gets a BIG preview for you to play!
In 2015 we gave a special mention to Retream's Arcade homebrew of ' QUOD INIT EXIT ', a C64 game that had a cute little pig, lots of fast moving fruit and was so colourful you would've been silly not to load it up on a C64. Thankfully it looks as if the team want to continue the piggy greatness, as not only is there a sequel still coming of which we featured previously, but Retream has contacted us today, to let you all know that after more than 2 years, a new and massive playable preview has been released!

We have recently found out through Facebook that as of December this year, Robert Wilson will be releasing his upcoming C64 game of 'Quasimodo's Christmas Caper'; An in development Arcade Platformer which is a spin off to Hunchback Redux (currently in development) featuring Quasimodo. To coincide with this news, not only is there a new gameplay teaser to view, but there's details about the game which can be viewed below.
Jolly Jumper - A one button C64 game by Megastyle you'll either love or hate!
Not to be left behind with all the latest Amiga titles, it's time for the C64 to get in on the retro gaming fun, as we've recently found out through Saberman, that Megastyle has released a new C64 game called 'Jolly Jumper'; a 4k Craptastic game in which playing as a character with the use of only one button, must jump a swinging rope that increases in speed with every rep. Sir Arthur - A brilliant PETSCII preview of Ghosts 'n Goblins for the C64
Way back in 1985 Capcom released the start of one of the greatest side scrolling platform game series we have ever known. It featured a knight, creepy enemies, lots of graves and was extremely difficult to the point of frustration. The game I am talking about is of course ' Ghosts 'N Goblins ', the first game in the Ghosts 'n Goblins franchise which appeared on many different systems such as the Amstrad, C64 and even the ZX Spectrum. So for those of you who remember playing the game, may interested to know that we have just found out that Honcho, Nordischsound and Shine is working on a Ghosts 'N Goblins game for the C64 made in PETSCII called 'Sir Arthur'.
Delve!: The Goblin's Grotto - A Petscii Dungeon Crawler for the C64 that's rather enjoyable!
Something slightly different for this weekend retro heads up, as if you are a huge fan of Dungeon Crawlers, especially games such as Eye of the Beholder or Lands of Lore. Then you may be interested to know that Ant Stiller and Cal Skuthorpe has released the brand new PETSCII Dungeon Crawler of ' Delve! - The Goblin's Grotto' for the C64; A RESET64 4kb 2022 competition entry as a procedurally-generated action rogue-like with a tiny smattering of Eye of the Beholder. Circles - An addictive Rhythm based 4kb game for the Commodore 64 by James
Today we've been swamped with news, and as I'm now overwhelmed and need a writers break, I thought it would be best to give a final shout out for this awesome yet simplistic little game called 'Circles' by James. What makes this game different from all the other ones we've featured this week, as in this game not only do you get swarmed by tiny dots, but as your fire power increases, so does the beat! Yes this game is a Rhythm based shooter and it's a lot of fun all squeezed into 4kb!
Bring back more bones 4k - A rather small yet unique Dungeon Crawler for the C64 by Commocore
Another heads up for you all fine folk, as if you're a fan of the Dungeon Crawler genre, with games such as Eye of the Beholder or Dungeon Master, then it might be worth your time checking out Commocore's latest release of Bring back more bones 4k; a rather quick and spontaneous sequel to the creators Bring back my bones 4k. A game which was originally created for Reset64 Craptastic 4k game competition and released today with an extra creature in the level that is the CEMETERY.
Marble Boy - An Arcade C64 homage to Marble Madness and Buggy Boy by Roman Werner
Another game to add to a long list of C64 titles we've seen this year already, as we've recently been told by a good friend of ours via Facebook, that Roman Werner has released a brand new Commodore 64 game of 'Marble Boy ' through itch io. A game which isn't just an Arcade homage to Marble Madness, but also Buggy Boy in which you need to roll a ball around each of the many levels while collecting all of the pennants/banners in a given order.
POING Ultra - A wacky PONG game makes its appearance on the C64!
