LC-Games is certainly no stranger to Indie Retro News, creating brilliant titles such as Bagman Comes Back, Tutankham, Tutankham Returns, Mike Mech, Scout the Stray, Santa's Troubles and our personal favourite Arcade to C64 game of Dig Dug. But another game has just caught our attention and worthy of a mention on IRN, and it's LC-Games latest C64 homage to the 1980's 'Lock'n'Chase ': an arcade game developed by DECO in 1981 which runs perfectly on both PAL and NTSC models of the Commodore 64!

Kielbasa Empire - A high quality WIP C64 game from Ordered Chaos Design gets a new demo
The news just keeps on coming, as just moments ago we were informed by our good friend and Youtubber Saberman, that Ordered Chaos Design has made available a new demo for their upcoming C64 game 'Kielbasa Empire'; A rather cool looking game which isn't just about farming and feeding your piggies, but fighting off attackers that are out to do you harm. To coincide with this news story, Saberman has also done a playthrough showing different parts to this rather eye opening game from Ordered Chaos Design.
Phantomas III The Return of Brok - The third game in the series gets a tease for the C64
In 1986 Dinamic Software released the Spanish game of ' Phantomas 2 ' for many different 8bit systems with an international release name through Codemasters under the title of ' Vampire ': A game that had a mix of adventuring and platforming contained many different screens with deadly enemies, traps and much much more. Well if you remember playing this game back in the 80's, then you may be interested to know that at some point in the near future, 'Phantomas III The Return of Brok' will be coming to the Commodore 64 via SrHead.

Huck On The Mississippi - A C64 game that's inspired by The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
If you're looking for a game that's fun for all the family, then make sure to check out Frank Abbing's latest Commodore 64 game of Huck On The Mississippi. A game that that looks to be inspired by Huck and Jim's Journey Down the Mississippi River in the Novel, The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain. To coincide with this news, not only has Saberman provided a video showing the game in action, but the creator has provided some info about the development of the game that was originally started way back in 1987.
Yeti Mountain - An episodic Commodore 64 game has been released by Protovision
I'm rather surprised this game hasn't got more attention in the C64 scene, as not long ago thanks to a recent heads up, we were told that Protovision had recently published a rather awesome multi episode and genre Commodore 64 game called ' Yeti Mountain ' by Russell Mills. A game in which you must investigate the suspicious disappearance of your best friend and renowned ski instructor Chris Piriah at the Yeti Lodge Resort. To coincide with this news, as always we've got some screenshots and a video for you of this latest release from Protovision.
Schreckenstein 64 - A WIP port of the fabulous Atari 800/XL exclusive game Schreckenstein by Peter Finze
An early morning heads up for you all, as we've recently been informed that Rob Rafac has released a work in progress version of the upcoming Atari XL/XE to Commodore 64 port of Schreckenstein. As in the words of the creator. "I have been working on a port of the fabulous Atari 800/XL-exclusive game Schreckenstein by Peter Finzel (not to be confused with the several C64 games with similar names) and it's at the point where it is completely playable, so I want to turn it loose on the community here". To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a video showing the current state of the game.
Dig Dug - A C64 port of Dig Dug by LC-Games, an arcade game first released by Namco in 1982!
Remember those days when seaside resorts had many arcade games to play, from top down shoot 'em ups to nifty little platformers. If you do, then you'll be pleased to know that as of today, you can now download the rather cool C64 port of Dig Dug by LC-Games, an arcade game first released by Namco in 1982! To coincide with this news, while you can view the very latest footage of the port below, the creator has staid the game does include the levels from the original arcade game, while also stating there are 15 different levels of which the last 4 are repeated until reaching level 256 (the kill screen).

Yet another Commodore 64 heads up for you all, as we've recently been informed by Saberman that the previously teased C64 game of Forest Saver by intoinside, has been released with a new 3.1.2 build for you to download and enjoy. In this game playing as a Ranger with his job to protect the Forest, you must be careful of of the loggers and industries who not only want to destroy the Forests, but they are also trying to pollute the lakes and make land for their pasture!
A China Miner Christmas - A festive revamp of the infamously difficult C64 single-screen platformer from 1984
You can just tell it's Christmas with all these lovely festive games appearing on Indie Retro News, Christmas music being played on the radio, and lights twinkling in your neighbours window. Delve Deeper - A heretical roguelike dungeon crawler for the Commdore 64.
As it's Christmas tomorrow and I'm spending time with family, this will be the last article from me for awhile. But before I get tipsy on Southern Comfort, here's a game you might want to check out on your Commodore 64, and it's Grifonchan's heretical roguelike dungeon crawler called Delve Deeper. A game in which you must traverse the Chasm of Evil to find loot, go on quests, and most likely fight many evil monsters along the way. Santa's Troubles - Are you feeling festive for another Commodore 64 game?
If you just can't wait for Christmas day and fancy playing a Christmas themed game right now, then you might be interested to know that LC-Games, who was also behind Dig Dug Revival, Bagman Strikes Back and many many others, has released the Christmas game of 'Santa's Troubles': A game in which you have to help Santa Claus recover all the gift packages stolen by the criminals. The Secret of Monkey Island - A landmark adventure game appears on the C64, but with some limitations!
The Secret of Monkey Island developed by Lucasfilm Games (later LucasArts) was originally released in 1990 and created by now industry legends Ron Gilbert, Tim Schafer, and Dave Grossman. It was a game that has lived on the hearts of many with its fantastic pirate charm. Well if you remember that fine game, you'll be pleased to know that as of today, you can play a fan version of The Secret of Monkey Island on the C64! Although do be aware there are limitations. It's very clunky, Guybrush doesn't walk, no interaction with the images, need to drop to a series of text menus to 'play' the game and I'm not sure if it can be played from the beginning to the end(like the original).
Stranded Cats - Upcoming (split-screen) adventure game for the Commodore 64 gets a demo!
Thanks to another heads up from a good friend of ours , we've been told that if you're looking for something different to play on your C64 where you can play with a friend, then make sure to check out Siegfried Croes latest game demo of 'Stranded Cats '; A game in which the developer describes as a multiplayer (split-screen) adventure game. Santa's Workout 3 - Another Commodore 64 game for Christmas, and it's from Vector5games!
With Christmas being just a few weeks away you'd expect to see lots of Christmas themed games appearing on Indie Retro News in the lead up to the 25th. Well that's certainly happening this week, as as another festive game to be mentioned on our site is a Christmas game by Vector5games for the C64 called 'Santa's Workout 3 '; a brand new game in which you need to help Santa deliver presents and place them under the Christmas tree. In light of this festive season, Saberman has also provided a new gameplay video.
Tetris Recoded - This latest version of Tetris by RetroBytes looks super cool!
It's time to move away from the Platform genre and look towards classic Puzzle games for our retro fun, as if you loved the 1984 game of Tetris, you'll be pleased to know that as of today, you can download the very latest Tetris game of 'Tetris Recoded' by RetroBytes. A recoded version which came first at the Mixed Game Competition at LuheCon³! To coincide with this news, we have some footage of the game which gives us a glimpse at the improved graphics, playability, and different music compared to the original 1988 C64 game by Mirrorsoft.
Briley Witch Chronicles 2 - Sarah Jane Avory's hit Commodore 64 game gets a sequel and is now available!
This is incredible news if you have a Commodore 64, as thanks to a heads up through Facebook, we just found out that one of the best homebrew developers of Sarah Jane Avory, has announced that she has released eagerly awaited game of Briley Witch Chronicles 2 for the Commodore 64! The sequel to a hit game which is not only a fabulous Japanese styled RPG, but it features feature plenty of retro goodness that is sure to whet your appetite. To coincide with this news, Saberman has provided a gameplay video for the game, which can be viewed below.
