Wings : Remastered is a revamped version of the Amiga version that will feature far higher graphical capability of the original, while still keeping to the original game play that made Wings on the Amiga so great. The Retro Collection - Part 2

I've always had a soft spot for the Amiga but it wasn't until recently that I went into overdrive mode in collecting Amiga and Amstrad based games. Yet some would probably call me crazy, my credit card probably would! But when you have so many good gaming memories from your childhood then there is no harm in reliving those days and admiring the exceptional work that when into not just the games, but the boxes themselves. However, in my opinion a collection isn't much of a collection if you don't have some of the best titles available on that platform for the time, well guess what, I have many of those very games!

Wings - Remastered Edition : EARLY TEASER!

Game Type : Multi Genre, Shoot Em Up, Flight Action Simulator
Developer : Cinemaware
Info : Wings was an all time classic WW1 flight simulator intermixed with arcade bombing runs that was released in the early 90's by Cinemaware for the Amiga. It's one of the all time classic favs for Retro gamers across the world. Its such a sort after classic, that high quality originals sell for a nice bit of dosh on the bay. Even I tried to grab an original in town and was smacked back by it being £40! That was for the Amiga.... Yet fast forward to these last few years and we've had one Kickstarter which was a fail and today's news of a Kickstarter rebirth. That's not all, as Cinemaware are now teasing us with a trailer and the thoughts of a demo. So with a teaser out and a Kickstarter due by the end of the week, I CAN'T WAIT!

Game Info Quote : Gamers who whiled away hours on classic Amiga titles are in for a treat as one of the best-loved sci-fi action games from the era is set for a re-launch. Rocket Ranger was first released by Cinemaware on the Amiga in 1988. It became one of the most beloved and iconic Cinemaware games of all time and was released on several other platforms, including the Japanese FM-Towns computer and Nintendo’s NES. Taking its inspiration from 1950s TV sci-fi serials, the game sets the player in a world where the Nazis won World War II. Using rocket pack technology sent from the future, the player must travel the world and rid it of the escalating threat, combining strategic planning, infiltration by spies and lots of action scenes. Through dogfights, shootouts, fist fights, a nefarious plot involving a kidnapped scientist’s daughter and dialogue with various characters, the player must pursue the goal of building a rocket ship to reach the moon in order to rid the world of the Nazis once and for all – with a twist in the story at the end!

Wings - A brilliant WW1 multi genre Amiga title (PC Playable) + Kickstarter Update

Game Type : Multi Genre, Shoot Em Up, Flight Action Simulator
Launcher Developer : The Company.pl
Original Developer : Cinemaware
Game Info : Wings was an all time classic WW1 flight simulator intermixed with arcade bombing runs that was released in the early 90's by Cinemaware for the Amiga. It's one of the all time classic favs for Retro gamers across the world. It was so popular that in August, the 10th, 2012 to be exact, Cinemaware created a Kickstarter for a Wings remastered. However, even though many of us had fond memories of the original, the HD game never made it's pledge goal and it flopped big time, which was a huge shame. But fast forward to 2013 and we are now getting some hints that another kickstarter may re-appear for Wings and I think it may very well achieve it's goal. But until that time, thanks to The Company.pl, Wings has been released/updated from the Amiga to the PC playable version of 2.6 so you can now play this on your PC with higher graphical filters.

Defender of the Crown - Classic Hit Strategy/Adventure Game (iOS)

Defender of the Crown, Cinemaware's classic hit strategy/adventure game, ported over from the Amiga(1986) is now available for all iOS systems. This is an all time favorite of mine and Cinemaware's very first game, even though it did have a multitude of ports. Assume the role of a Saxon (Wilfred of Ivanhoe, Cedric of Rotherwood, Geoffrey Longsword or Wolfric the Wild) and claim the country of England as truly yours.
