What do you get if you mix the 1986 Arcade game of 'Arkanoid' and the 1987 game of 'Space Invaders'? Probably this latest game from djpiotrs called 'Invanoid'; a brand new game demo in which playing as a bat like device scrolling from side to side at the bottom of the screen, you must bounce an orb back and forth while destroying waves of enemy ships that slowly traverse towards you. To coincide with this news Saberman has done a video of the game which can be viewed below.
Jump! - The Amiga AGA version of Yoomp! gets the first playable public demo teaser!
As of today after many features of the Amiga AGA version of a game originally called Yoomp! We are pleased to announce as thanks to a heads up via Saberman, you can finally play test the first available public demo of Jump! For those who haven't heard of this game before, Yoomp! 64 was originally released in 2020 by RGCD and Psytronik Software on the C64, as port of the fantastic Atari XE/XL game. It featured gaming mechanics in which you need to bounce a ball through many different three-dimensional textured tubes, to collect as many points as you can while trying not to fall off the edge.
Duckstroma - A charming Amiga platformer by UltraNarwhal gets a demo!
In 2020 UltraNarwhal released the lovely platformer of 'Duckstroma' for the ZX Spectrum and MSX, a game which can still be downloaded through the main itch.io website. Well as of today if you were hoping for more information about the upcoming Amiga version, you'll be pleased to know as thanks to both Per Ola Eriksson and Saberman contacting us this morning, we have been told that UltraNarwhal has finally released the demo as a teaser to the upcoming full version, a game we can't wait to play when it's finished!

Puzzle Bubble - A fabulous Arcade like port for the Amstrad CPC gets an update!
Puzzle Bobble has infuriated and thrilled us in equal measure since its release around the year of 1994. Its appeal captures all age groups, and the fun is doubled with a brother, sister or friend playing to beat each others high score. So why is this game getting another mention on IRN? I'm sure many of you remember the Street Fighter games, more especially Street Fighter 2 which appeared not only on the ZX Spectrum but also the C64 in 1991/2. Welcome to the latest game to get the Arcade treatment, and this one is not only coming from Herrera64 and Errazking with a stonking soundtrack by Narcisound, but as of right now you can try an early demo!
Akumajou Dracula AGA - Castlevania for the Amiga, and it still looks amazing in this playable prototype update
We've certainly played our fare share of Castlevania inspired games over the years, especially the most impressive Castlevania Spectral Interlude, which we had the pleasure of playing on the ZX Spectrum which was created by Sanchez. But today thanks to another heads up by Saberman, we've been told the Castlevania prototype, which the developer is calling 'Akumajou Dracula AGA' and using Earok's Scorpion Engine. Has recently been updated with the "Vampire Killer" soundtrack; a change which features great Paula 4 channels rendition by the talented musician Estrayk/Capsule^Scoopex, based on the original by Satoe Terashima.
Call of Saregnar - A nod to the era of party-based RPGs from the 90's such as Betrayal at Krondor gets a demo!
Most of us here love a good dungeon crawler, from Eye of the Beholder to Legend of Grimrock and even the more recent Might and Magic. But when it comes to Call of Saregnar; a new RPG by Rhuantavan that is still in development with a demo now available, things are rather different. You see Call of Saregnar isn't just a nod to classic RPG's of the 90's but from the look of the game you'd be mistaken in thinking it was it was a love letter to another one of my all time favorites Betrayal at Krondor; a game in which GOG says is one of the most classic RPGs, chosen as the RPG of the year in 1994
Kind of Blue - A humble PC remake of the C64 classic Blue Max gets a demo
We've featured a number of decent remakes on Indie Retro News, from the incredible game of Lionheart on the PC, to Imperium Galactica, Ambermoon and yes even the more recent Defender. Well here's another game that might be worth your time checking out with a downloadable demo, and it's RunStopReady's game of 'Kind of Blue'; a humble remake of the C64 classic Blue Max which was originally released back in 1983 via Synapse Software for the Atari 8bit, and later the C64 and ZX Spectrum!

Pengo - A classic Arcade game from 1982 is not only coming to the 7800, but you can try the demo!
Way back in 1982, Coreland published by Sega released the Arcade game of 'Pengo', A maze like game in which playing as a penguin, you must survive each round by eliminating all Sno-Bees and Sno-Bee eggs with sliding blocks, while optionally lining up the three diamond blocks for a large bonus. Well today's news is pretty interesting for the Atari 7800, as darryl1970 has released a demo of the Arcade conversion which is coming to the Atari 7800 at some point in the near future.
Okinawa Rush - A seriously cool Beat Em Up/Platformer is coming to GOG/Steam OCT 21st + Demo
Move over Way of the Exploding Fist as a new game is fighting to take your belt. Titled as Okinawa Rush and developed by David Miller, Steve Miller and Gary Angelone, this is a seriously cool ninja beat em up based platformer, that is in development for PC(Windows) with a release due Oct 21st. In this game you play as the experienced martial artist Hiro Yashima, who has honed his skills to a supernatural level. But after coming across his murdered wife, and kidnapped children by the evil ninja's known as the Black Mantis clan who were looking for the legendary training scroll, he must find them and seek vengeance!
