Dungeon Kingdom : Sign of the Moon - Retro inspired Dungeon Crawler gets an Indiegogo campaign

Although we have featured this game before while it was going through a Steam Greenlight campaign, the developer has mentioned to us that they are now pushing for funding through Indiegogo. For those of you who loved games like Eye of the Beholder or the more recent Grimrock, then it might be worth your time to take a look at the latest dungeon crawler; Dungeon Kingdom : Sign of the Moon.

The Deep Paths - The latest Dungeon Crawler to appear on Kickstarter!

So far our Dungeon Crawling Facebook group seems to be doing rather well, and if it wasn't for Jehan we would not have seen this awesome looking Dungeon Crawler that's currently going through a Kickstarter campaign. Developed by Steve Jarman, The Deep Paths has inspirations from well known classics such as Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder and Lands of Lore with new innovations to give it the more modern edge.

Legend of Grimrock 2 - Now in Beta gets a teaser trailer!

As a huge fan of Lands of Lore, Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Master, I was pleasantly surprised to see that Legend of Grimrock 2, developed by Almost Human Ltd is now officially in Beta. A sequel to the incredible Legend of Grimrock, which sold well over 600,000 copies world wide, will have all new game features, enemies, new levels and outdoor levels which was an awesome experience in both Eye of the Beholder 2 and Lands of Lore.

Aeon of Sands : The Trail - Dungeon Crawling RPG love letter to the 90's!

As most of you know I'm a huge Dungeon Crawling RPG fan, especially games that hark back to the days of Eye of Beholder or Lands of Lore, and it's with great pleasure to announce Aeon of Sands : The Trail. Developed by Two Bits Kid, based in Germany, Aeon of Sands is a "Dungeon Adventure" story-driven RPG love letter to the golden Amiga, PC classics of the 90's

VAPORUM - Steampunk dungeon crawler gets an early teaser

Throughout this year we've had many great dungeon crawlers posted on Indie Retro News, from the classics such as Eye of the Beholder, to mods for Legend of Grimrock. So here comes another one that could well be added to that great list, it's Vaporum from FatBot Studio. Unlike other dungeon crawlers this goes one step further and turns the fantasy on it's head with a Steampunk vibe. As such you will fight many strange mechanical contraptions and visit rooms of steam based machinery, it looks simply superb. A game that will most likely have plenty of enemies, traps, cool loot and tricky puzzles all in that grid based dungeon style we so admire from classics gone by.  Vaporum will be available for PC and Mac, release date TBA

Sunday Remix! - A nice Amiga mix of music for today's tunes! (06/04/14)

Good evening readers, you may have noticed the lack of posts this weekend. That was due to me being unwell and also having to deal with a corrupt operating system and a busted soundcard. Thankfully, I was able to use the mac and pick some damn fine tunes for you today. Now today's tunes are all Amiga remixes unlike the recent retro head bangers, but that doesn't mean they don't sound as good! So as usual, sit back and enjoy but because some of these really are very famous games.

Last month FrodeSolheim released the final build of FS-UAE 2.4.0, which is one of the best Amiga Emulators with full GUI that you can use on your PC. A far more indepth look is available here, as for this version 2.4.1, you'll need to update to it as some people have had launcher issues with the previous build. Read on for change notes.

Eye of the Beholder 1 & 2 AGA Versions now playable in FS-UAE!! - Incredible Retro Dungeon Crawler

The most incredible Dungeon Crawler ever to appear on the Amiga and PC, Eye of the Beholder 1 and 2 by Westwood Studios is now playable in FS-UAE. What's more, these are the unofficial AGA versions, with full auto mapping and higher end graphics, which did not come with the original Amiga games. We have featured the AGA versions before, but through FS-UAE playing these two versions has been made far more worthwhile. Amiga games in a brilliant Amiga Emulator and Front end, what's not to like? But before we get to the how to, lets just say that if you want a deep retro dungeon crawler with four characters to create, outside movement, puzzles, secret areas, a main quest and characters to talk to, then these are the retro game's to play. So lets get on with it shall we?
