Shadow Dancer - A 1989/91 game released for the Amiga is getting an Mega Drive to Amiga port! [New Video]

As we said before, while many of you have played Shadow Dancer on the Amiga, some of you felt while the game was fun, it was lacking in graphics, noting by many as having an Atari ST colour-palette and no Parallax. Well one such user is hoping to change that negative view, as msmalik681 has shown a project for a Mega Drive to Amiga port of Shadow Dancer using the Scorpion Engine. A new version of the game which the creator states "The megadrive version was the same game re-imagined and it was much better then the original arcade game. I played this game to death when I was younger and I loved it".

Okinawa Rush - A seriously cool Beat Em Up/Platformer is coming to GOG/Steam OCT 21st + Demo

Move over Way of the Exploding Fist as a new game is fighting to take your belt. Titled as Okinawa Rush and developed by David Miller, Steve Miller and Gary Angelone, this is a seriously cool ninja beat em up based platformer, that is in development for PC(Windows) with a release due Oct 21st. In this game you play as the experienced martial artist Hiro Yashima, who has honed his skills to a supernatural level. But after coming across his murdered wife, and kidnapped children by the evil ninja's known as the Black Mantis clan who were looking for the legendary training scroll, he must find them and seek vengeance!

Simon Dragon - A Double Dragon inspiration playable in your browser

Tuesday just gets better and better as another game has hit our news feeds and it's none other than Double Dragon, or shall I say 'Simon Dragon' by Claudio Cimini. First released way back in the 80's by Taito Corporation, Double Dragon was a fantastic beat 'em up game that featured high grade fighting two player fun on many different systems such as the Amstrad, Amiga and C64. But now you too can experience what made Double Dragon so enjoyable, as an unofficial inspiration starring Simone Bonino, an italian famous bodyguard has been released playable in your browser.

Monstro Giganto - A glorious PETSCII C64 game gets another video tease via RGCD

If you read our previous article, you would've known that Antonio Savona and team were working on a brand new PETSCII C64 game called Monstro Giganto; a homebrew that's very similar in artistic design to another game we have featured called Digiloi. OpenBOR - 2D side scrolling engine gets an Amiga port!


A nice bit of Amiga news to the end the week as the 2d side scrolling engine of ' OpenBOR ' has been fully ported over to the Amiga thanks to lantus360, although you will need at least an Amiga with a fast 68040 AGA or RTG to play it. If you're wondering what OpenBOR is all about, it's an open source continuation of Beats of Rage and Streets of Rage and is regarded as the single most powerful two dimensional sprite based engine in the world, which has been used for countless freshly designed beat em ups from fan based developers.

Even though I'm in my mid 30's one of my favourite Anime's of all time, just has to be the Dragonball Z series. I have seen all the episodes, all the movies and even the spin offs! You could almost say my growing up years was Dragon Ball, although you wont see me wearing any costumes, powering up or using any special moves. Shadow Gangs - Retro inspired Shinobi aims for Greenlight success


Checking our Inbox for the latest news to be mentioned, we came across a game that has the look of an arcade/console classic but given a more modern touch. Sure enough ' Shadow Gangs ', which is currently going through a Steam Greenlight campaign for PC, Mac and Linux, is inspired by the fighting classics such as Shinobi, Shadow Warriors and Double Dragon but has a higher graphical detail but still containing those fighting moves which were a standard with games of this genre.

TRAF - Trajes Fatais - 2D costume fighter needs your Greenlight votes


Now I'm sure many of you have heard the term ' Cosplay ' in which people dress up in costumes looking as close as possible to the characters they portray. But imagine putting these costumes on and gaining actual powers, a sort of X-Men effect without the mutation. Well if you take a look at the 2D Fighting experience of  ' TRAF - Trajes Fatais ' by Onanim Studio that is currently going through a Steam Greenlight campaign, you'll not only have powers as a guest in a costume party, but you'll also be able to kick ass with many different moves.
