World's End Chapter 1 - Turn based strategy RPG featuring unique mechanics

We seem to have hit a low point in games lately that I feel deserve a mention on our site for your gaming pleasure. So in our hunt for something free and worth while, we came across Mezzanine Stairs comedic turn based strategy RPG, 'World's End Chapter 1'; which features more than your usual turn based antics. In fact, not only does it feature the ability to learn new skills, buying, finding and plundering items, but in this game you can actually use terrain, traps, obstacles and even foes' corpses to gain a tactical advantage.

Will's Epic in the Timeless Zone - Jet Set Willy style remake is now available

Way back in the early 80's Matthew Smith released Jet Set Willy, the sequel to Manic Miner for the ZX Spectrum and ported to most other home computers by the publisher Software Projects. Playing as Jet Set Willy in a flip-screen platform game you needed to move from room to room in his mansion collecting objects from a previous party otherwise Maria the house keeper wouldn't let you back in to his bedroom. But today in 2015 a new Jet Set Willy style game titled 'Will's Epic in the Timeless Zone', developed by Will is now available completely free to play in your browser!

Serious Dave - Action packed retro inspired runner free to play!

Inspired by "Dangerous Dave" and "Ruff 'n' Tumble'" from the Amiga, but with a lot of shooting, running and platform jumping involved. 'Serious Dave' is the latest top featured release by x246h00--r5 that really grabbed our attention. Even though it is still as a work in progress title and looking fantastic for such an early release, it already features 3 levels, 5 enemy types and all the weapons and upgrades you could need.

Werewolf Tycoon - A simulation of a Big Bad Wolf! (Recommended!)

We've been keeping an eye on this game in development for some time through twitter and we are happy to report that "Werewolf Tycoon" by Joe Williamson is now available to play in your browser. A flash port of the mobile game, you are a big bad wolf of Werewolf Park and must eat as many people as you can. Be careful though, don't get seen and let the witnesses escape as if it ends up too much, you'll have the army after you. A fantastic game indeed, full of fun , cool music and a great art style! Probably the best flash game we've played this month!

For the Homeland! - Be the Dictator in this free flash game! (Recommended)

Have you always wanted to be a dictator in full control of your own country, telling people what to do, going to war and having to deal with rebel factions? Well now you can in "For the Homeland!"; a game developed for the Ludum Dare 31, in just 3 days. Your main mission... To resist the rage of social classes and improve your army to conquer all neighbouring countries. It's a great game indeed and impressive for a 3 day development time, as it's also full of animation. With phones ringing, Stalin Mouse smoking, the general Dog sighing and the social Bird falling asleep. Certainly our recommended game of the day and it's playable in your browser!

Don't touch the flames - Fun and frustration all wrapped into one

We haven't featured a free game from gamejolt for awhile, so it's time to take a look at "Don't touch the flames" from Retro Bungalow. In this highly tappable game you must collect as many crystals as possible to reach a high score, the problem is, the flames that appear on either side and more especially below will kill you. This game reminds me of flappy bird as you tap tap tap to keep in mid flight while avoiding certain death. Thankfully the collection of crystals unlocks extra characters and fuel will keep you going for longer. Although I found the game frustrating due to it's difficulty level, it's still a fun game to play and I kept coming back for more!

Space101 - A new take on the Asteroids game and it's FREE!

Now who here didn't like the 1979 Arcade version of Asteroids, where you fly your little ship about shooting Asteroids and UFOs while trying not to be destroyed? I certainly enjoyed it and so have many others, as have there have been countless clones of the game, but Space 101 by Norham is one of the better ones.

The Monkey King - Use the monkeys as weapons in this free Arcade game

Either your bored at work or nothing to play at home, then check out The Monkey King, Developed by cakeandturtles. A game that has you tasked with the collection of monkeys and using them as weapons against the evil Monkey King. This little gem of a game is a great time waster and did make me chuckle as I picked up those animals and chucked them at the king, however I wasn't expecting the big boss to grow and become progressively more difficult with every defeat.

Oliver Twist - Pickpocket the rich in this fun free browser based game

We've been naughty lately, we haven't posted many free indie games! Well that is about to change right now as we have Oliver Twist to show you. A fun free browser based game in which you play as a famous character from the fun re-telling of Oliver Twist in a game of thievery and escapism.  Developed by Shortee you'll need to pickpocket the rich for the criminal gang leader Fagin, but watch out because if the cops catch you you'll be given a good telling off.

20 Waves - A new take on the Tower Defence genre and it's FREE

Although I'm not a fan of Tower Defence games (it's not my style), 20 Waves by Colin Lane does change the genre slightly and offers a lot of fun in a freely playable browser based game. But what makes this game so different from the others? Well factor in that it's not top down and it's 2D based, but turrets, force fields, and walls need to be placed against the oncoming waves from the sides to defend your mining operation. It's that simple!

Land of Enki - Recommended platformer and it's free!

It sure is warm outside so what better way to spend it than inside playing cool free games! So here is Land of Enki, developed by VoidForce which is a fun platformer that's free and playable in your browser. You play as Kon a cursed Enkian, as he journeys across Naturia to find Nayra and to stop the evil King Blazer.

Running Warrior - Free run and jump platformer from Fliptic

I've recently had the pleasure of playing Running Warriors and for the simplicity of it, it's a lot of fun! Your task is to save your loved one from the evil wizard. And this is done by running across the landscape, slicing at enemies and collecting coins. Featuring 4 different levels, plenty of enemies and sneaky spikes, Running Warriors by Fliptic is a recommended game!

Dig to China - How far can you dig before the time runs out in this free game!

A browser based game that's a lot of fun, Dig to China by dabontv gives you the task of digging to China but this must be done before the time runs out! But that doesn't mean it's game over, as the more resources you collect along the way can be used to purchase improvements for the next stage of digging. The good thing is, scattered below are clocks which can be used to give you extra time and more digging. So how far can you get? Can you reach China? - Recommended free game!

Subdog Underwater Adventure - The pixeled submarine adventure that's just a little too difficult, but still fun!

Subdog Underwater Adventure from the newly founded indie game developer Dark pixel & Osky Studios is a rather difficult game with pixelated graphics and fun game play for android devices with flash and PC coming soon. Your little doggy has launched himself into the sea in search for his bone stolen by a marine creature. But be warned as this isn't an easy game, as not only do you have the sharp edges to contend with, but many deadly enemies and traps. If you touch one, your snorkel will not save you. This is a free game, with plenty of things to do, but the only down side are the ads, but don't let that put you off, this is a neat game!
