It's the middle of the week and it's time for some fresh news to be announced! The first one up that comes highly recommended and has had a recent update, is Alevgor's action platformer 'Haunted Lands - Burial Grounds'. A game that isn't just a PC homage to classic DOS games such as Commander Keen, Dangerous Dave and Bio Menace, but you'll be fighting deadly demons and ghouls with a powerful shotgun at your disposal. RiverRaid Reloaded v1.1 - An updated River Raid clone for the Amiga 500 and up!
While many of you have already played Project R3D's River Raid style game of ' Bridge Strike ', you might also interested to know that as of today, Matze1887 has released an update to his previously released River Raid clone of ' RiverRaid Reloaded ' for the Commodore Amiga. Now if you've not heard of this classic game before, that's because it was originally released in 1982 for the Atari 2600, and then ported over to many different systems such as the C64 and ZX Spectrum as a game viewed from a top-down perspective, flying a fighter jet over the River of No Return in a raid behind enemy lines.
L'abbaye Des Morts - Indie Retro News C64 Game of the Year 2019 goes free!
For many months we were talking about the fabulous C64 game 'L'abbaye Des Morts'; a game which was developed by Antonio Savona, with graphics, music, sfx by Saul Cross and Gryzor, full permission of Locomalito, as an Indie Retro News game of the year for 2019. Well if you haven't played the game now's your chance, because as of this week you can now download the game for free!
Castlevania Prelude of Chaos - Love letter to a classic, styled like a Gameboy game (PC/Windows)
After already mentioning games such as Vampire Slayer, which is a Castlevania engine from the Mojon Twins' MK1 Churrera, another Castlevania game has graced our screens. As trawling through the itch.io website we've come across a game called Castlevania Prelude of Chaos. According to the creator of this game, Castlevania: Prelude of Chaos is a love letter to the old games from the 8-bit era and especially Castlevania II: Simon's Quest.
GBJAM 8 - Lots of great games submitted to the latest GameBoy Jam!
What a great early part of the week for retro games, as during the latest GBJAM 8, over 200 games were submitted for voting to be a successful entry in the GameBoy themed Jam. A jam in which gamers from around the world were given the opportunity to create any game they wish, as long as it looked like a Game Boy game. In fact it was such a great competition that we even had the pleasure of playing the rather cool game of 'GBNOID' ; a game inspired by the classic Cybernoid by Raffaele Cecco!
Rayman Redemption - A reimagination of the original Rayman game from 1995
If you followed our previous news announcement from Monday, we mentioned that Raymanni, who is also behind the The Dark Magician's Reign of Terror fan game, was going to be releasing the next PC fan game called Rayman Redemption; a reimagination of the original Rayman game from 1995! Well fast forward today however and there's some good news, because as of 12.00 UTC which is about 1PM UK time, the full version of Rayman Redemption will be released for Windows based systems.

Ghosts 'n Demons - Glorious Ghosts 'n Goblins fan game gets an update
It's once again an awful day in the UK, but that didn't stop us from writing this rather eye opening news for the PC. As we've just found out that the 'Ghosts 'n Demons' game, which is a 30th anniversary fan game to that of the classic Ghosts 'n Goblins, has been updated to v1.8.0 with further improvements and or bug fixes by BonusJZ. In this game you once again play as Sir Arthur, a knight on a quest against evil forces. You must rescue Princess Prin Prin's who has been kidnapped and fight your way through dozens of enemies such as Demons, Ghosts and Zombies!
Max Downforce - Racing game with classic Arcade inspirations gets a Windows release
During the late 80's Namco released a brilliant arcade racing game called Pole Position; a game which was designed by Tōru Iwatani, designer of Pac-Man, and ending up as one of the most popular arcade racing games of 1982-3. It was such a good game, it was also released on multiple systems including the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 8-bit, Commodore 64/128, Commodore VIC-20, Intellivision, Vectrex, MS-DOS, TI-99/4A and Sinclair ZX Spectrum. Well if you remember this game, you'll be interested to know that Robbert Prins of Foppygames has released a very similar game for Windows which he calls 'Max Downforce'.
Chuckie Egg - An eggy PC Remake released today!
It's incredible to think that Chuckie Egg was a game released years ago in 1983, initially for the ZX Spectrum, the BBC Micro, the Dragon then other systems. Well now after a surprising tease via the GameJolt website. We've come across a new PC remake of that classic game, which has been released by pj_crozza, developed using Game Maker and is based around the style of the Atari 8-bit version!
Sabotage - A neat little action game as a Ludum Dare 45 entry
Would you like to play a game where you start with nothing, but still able to do maximum harm to your enemies? Then take a look at ' Sabotage '! Plutonium Caverns - A new Puzzle game developed for MS-DOS
It's not often we feature MS-DOS games, unless of course it's a glorious classic released on GOG, but today's announcement is something special. As we've been told by a member on our MS-DOS Gaming Facebook group, that Jani Nykänen has released a new game for MS-DOS called ' Plutonium Caverns '. This game which is also playable online, is a 2D top down puzzle game in which you need to collect all the diamonds to move on to the next level.
Darkula - A brand new Arcade game from Locomalito and Gryzor87
Fabulous news has just hit our inbox, as Locomalito, the same designer behind games such as the fantastic Ghouls 'n Ghosts style game of Maldita Castilla, and the awesome shoot em up teamed up with Gryzor87 for 'Super Hydorah', has announced the release of Darkula; a frantic fixed platform game designed like a 1983 coin-op arcade, with inspirations such as Mappy, Mouser, Arabian and many other great Arcade classics!
