Giana Sisters - Classic C64 gameplay, free to play!

Game Info Quote : Although the original Giana Sisters was first released in 1987 for the C64, and with great success I might add, this is that very game unofficially remade for the PC, by Ridley X Games. A game that features all the best bits from the original title, including the brilliant retro music. Furthermore, if you enjoyed the original Mario, then this game is very similar to that, with it's head block smashing character and jumping on enemies. So collect those diamonds while using the lightning bolt to shoot enemies, and then reach the end.

Game Info : Although I'm not a fan of Pokemon, there is a huge fan base for it especially with the poke' craze that spread across the globe some time back. The original developers are still selling Pokemon games and merchandise to this day. So a long comes a free fan based game titled Pokemon : Uranium Version which is using the RPGmaker XP engine and containing top quality game play, which takes place in the Tandor region. You the player must collect 6 Gym Badges in order to compete in the Tandor Regional Championship. Along the way, the player must fill up their Pokedex with over 80 different species of Pokemon. This is no small game either with the latest released beta having approx 11 hours long and contains 9 towns, 5 badges, 6 sidequests and over 85 Pokemon. Can you catch them all?

Sky-Rogue - Impressive action flight sim that reaches Alpha!

Game Info : I don't usually use the word impressive very often, but this game (Sky-Rogue) even in Alpha state fits that description. A real mix of Top gun and Sky fox with it's 3D graphics, and locking on to enemies with full fire power in effect. To add to that, the islands are procedurally-generated which means they are never the same and neither are the placed structures, for which you need to destroy. OpenIG : Imperium Galactica - High Quality Space Strategy Open Source Remake (0.95.152 released)

Info Update : It has been some time since the previous update and I was starting to wonder if the open source version was dead. But fear not, as the developer David Karnok has released another update for OpenIG to 0.95.152. Although it's not a big update, it's still worth downloading through the launcher. The developer was also hoping to have multiplayer in place but looks like commitments have taken priority, which happens to us all at one stage or another.
