Red Goddess - Mind exploring action adventure game today on Steam!


We've just received some lovely news from Yanim Studio today as they've informed us of the release of 'Red Goddess' ; a beautiful looking action adventure which is now available to buy on Steam. Featuring stunning 3D graphics, spectacular effects and countless elaborate details developed using an extended Unreal Engine 4. You play as the emotions of the Divine, to explore her mind, deep inside the subconscious, to try and remember and recover her own powers.

Satellite Reign - Spiritual successor to Syndicate released on GOG and Steam!


Grand news today as 5 Lives Studios have informed us of the release of 'Satellite Reign', which is now available to buy on GOG, Humble and Steam. Over 2 years since their successful Kickstarter campaign. and many days through the early access program. 'Satellite Reign' is a spiritual successor to the Syndicate Series and the same creator behind Syndicate Wars, which was originally released by Bullfrog Productions in the 1990's and in my opinion was some of the greatest games I have ever played.

What a great way to start Tuesday, as the developers 5LivesStudios have announced the release date for the Kickstarter success of 'Satellite Reign' ; a spiritual successor to the Syndicate Series which is coming August 28th! Syndicate and Syndicate Wars released by Bullfrog Productions in the 1990's were some of the greatest Action Strategy games I have ever played. Yet fast forward to this week and the same creator behind Syndicate Wars has not only mentioned the release date but also a brand new launch trailer to whet your appetite.

Frogatto & Friends - A cute and extremely fun Platformer with AmigaOS 4.1 support


After a very successful Steam Greenlight campaign with PC, MAC and iOS support, the 2d adventure platformer of 'Frogatto and Friends' is now available for AmigaOS 4.1 users. This lovely game although released through the Humble Store a little while back, has a classic retro style starring a quixotic frog, where you lead the titular character on a humdrum errand that turns into a daring adventure.

Crystal Kingdom Dizzy - Classic Dizzy is back and he's out of beta


Dizzy fans have we got news for you as we've just heard from the YolkFolk, of the final release for the remake of  'Crystal Kingdom Dizzy'. First released in 1992 on many different systems by Codemasters such as the ZX Spectrum, Commodore 64, Amstrad CPC, Atari ST, DOS, and Amiga, has now been given a graphical de-make to the likes of the 8 bit classics. Not just that but unlike the original version, this one has been made into a traditional Dizzy style game and is no longer split into four levels.

Stasis - Sci-fi bloody horror adventure launch trailer and release date!


After many months of waiting in anticipation, Daedalic Entertainment and The Brotherhood have now launched the very latest trailer for their upcoming PC 2D isometric point and click bloody horror adventure of 'Stasis; which is due for release 31st August. Stasis follows the game-play mechanics of classics like Space Quest, Kings Quest, The Dig, Day of the Tentacle and the critically acclaimed Sanitarium, and twists it into a dark horror filled adventure set on a desolate spacecraft. This latest trailer shows off it's very creepy atmosphere with oodles of blood, and also the mention of a GOG and Steam release.

Shardlight - The next adventure from Wadjet Eye Games!


Wadjet Eye Games, the Studio behind the brilliant adventure games Golden Wake and The Blackwell Series are once again going to release what looks to be another fine point and click adventure game titled "Shardlight". This latest adventure release looks to be of very high quality with gorgeous artwork as you play as Amy and with the help of a mysterious figure to work to unite the oppressed, bring down the Caligula and find a cure for the plague. Current indications are of a late 2015 release with PC and other systems yet to be mentioned.

Random Acts of Mining - Arcade fun for your Steam Greenlight votes


When it comes to Indie games some of the most popular types are those that involve the player exploring deep caves and fighting beasts with a mission to collect something of value. It gives you that urge to go ever deeper and a wonder of what lurks around the next rock face. As such, here we are with 'Random Acts of Mining'; a game that involves a Robotic Underground Treasure Hunter as she navigates her way through dangerous randomly-populated subterranean environments to procure precious gems and acquire valuable wildlife specimens that was lost in an accidental teleport!

Lethis has been one of our most eagerly awaited city builders, as you not only have to manage your city, but provide resources, workers, trade with other cities and everything that makes the city builder such a great genre.

EXPLORER - Scramble inspired shooter for the ZX Spectrum


We've just been given the heads up of a brand new ZX Spectrum shooter inspired by Scramble, that will have ZX retro gamers across the globe hammering their space button and requiring fast reaction time while admiring the many speccy graphics that race up the screen at a blistering pace. This is 'EXPLORER' developed by Luca Bordoni; a complete 2015 rewritten code compiled with Boriel's ZX Basic from a much earlier release in 1989 that at the time was a weak attempt, but not so any more!

BiT Evolution - Retro styled Platformer out now on Steam


Described as a love letter to classic games from our youth, the developers Major Games, Inc have announced their retro styled platformer title 'BiT Evolution' is out of early access and available to buy on Steam. In 'Bit Evolution' players will become “BiT”, a puck from a table-tennis game influenced by Pong. Looking to break free from his paddle overlords, BiT discovers new worlds inspired by the iconic platforms of Atari, Gameboy, NES, and SNES.

Wyv and Keep - Lovely PC puzzle-platformer coming to Mac and Linux June 11th!


Some time back we featured Wyv and Keep, developed by A Jolly Corpse. Which is a game of action, traps and puzzle solving using two players, as you traverse the levels in search of the legendary lost idol. Fast forward to today and we've just had word from A Jolly Corpse that this lovely game is coming to Mac and Linux June 11th

Artifact Adventure - Open World NES style JRPG now on sale on Steam


Have you ever wondered what open world games such as The Witcher 3 or Skyrim would look like in a NES graphical pallet? Well wonder no longer! As the developers PLAYISM have announced their truly open world JRPG of ' Artifact Adventure ' which is available to buy on Steam. Unlike the usual RPG Maker style game which is extremely common nowadays, Artifact Adventure looks to be of high grade, as the game can be played the way you want, from choosing how to complete a quest, to far out travelling by blimp, artefact or by foot and the discovery of a vast world rich with characters, civilizations, monsters and adventure

Crystal Chip Collector - A very chippy puzzle platformer!


Searching for some interesting games that might appeal to our audience I happen to find a game called ' Crystal Chip Collector ' developed by nekomuragames that not only has that retro charm and fun game play but it would most certainly come across as a recommendation for a weekly play through. In this retro inspired title with it's chippy sound bytes, your goal is to optimize a computer full of redundant parts that have taken place within a crammed and hopelessly messy system.

Pankapu The Dreamkeeper - Action platformer reaches alpha stage


The French developer Too Kind Studio have contacted us to announce the alpha release version of 'Pankapu The Dreamkeeper'; a 2D action platformer inspired by old school games of the 90's. Set in a dreamlike world of Omnia, the player controls Pankapu, a tiny being created by the God of dreams in order to defeat the hordes of nightmares that try to infiltrate his world. During his quest he will meet many characters in this beautiful narrative and episodic story based platformer.

Umbra - Diablo 2 styled action RPG over 50% funded on Kickstarter!


The developer 'SolarFall Games' must be feeling overjoyed today as not only is their action open world RPG 'Umbra' a Steam Greenlight success, but they have also raised over 50% in Kickstarter funding in just a few days! Although we have featured the game twice now so we won't go into too much depth, Umbra is powered by CryEngine 3 and blends the hack and slash game play with state of the art graphics and truly modern AI inspired by the hit classic Diablo 2.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is nearly here Launch Trailer ("Go Your Way")


In about 5hrs or so time, CD Projekt RED will release 'The Witcher 3 Wild Hunt'; an incredible looking RPG that could well be every bit as good as some of the greatest RPG's of our time. Although the game has had much discussion regarding downgrades, I still have every faith in the developers to release a fantastic product. To coincide with this news the developers have also released a launch trailer called The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt - Launch Trailer ("Go Your Way")

Duck Out - Beat em up Amstrad CPC game gets a new tease!


At the beginning of this month ( May ) we gave everyone the heads up of a new Amstrad game in the works called 'Duck Out', which was to be ported from the ZX Spectrum but looking oh so much better with improved speed. First released in 1989 as a 2D side-scrolling beat em up, whereby the player controlled a duck with a frying pan, has now got a new trailer which shows just how good an Amstrad CPC can scroll while looking to be oh so much fun too!
