Aliens NeoPlasma - A great Aliens themed ZX Spectrum game that should be experienced on a ZX Spectrum Next!

It wasn't long ago now that we had the pleasure of playing the awesome game 'Aliens NeoPlasma ' on the Spectrum which was developed by Sanchez crew (Russian Federation); a horror platformer as their own take on the Aliens movie theme complete with friendly face-huggers. Well fast forward to this month however and as a great heads up by Liqmatrix in our inbox, we've been told this great game has been uploaded to itch.io for both the ZX Spectrum and ZX Spectrum NEXT. Although do be aware these are not NEW games, I just didn't get the chance to feature the NEXT version until now.

Astrocop - Travel through space in search of lost cats in this upcoming Amstrad CPC game!

Another Amstrad news story has hit our inbox, as XeNoMoRPH was kind enough to let us know through our email this morning, that if you're looking for a family friendly Arcade game for your Amstrad CPC, then you might like check out Mananuk's upcoming game of ' Astrocop '; A game that was not only released on the ZX Spectrum some time ago, but in the game you have to travel through space in search of lost cats...Meeeeeeeeeow!

Bootskell - Another enjoyable multi-system 8bit game appears from Inufuto!

If you have a C64 or any of the other systems mentioned below and looking for another fun game to play through this weekend, then thanks to another heads up from our good friend Saberman, we've been told that Inufuto who is behind games such as ASCEND, has released a new game for the Amstrad, MSX, PC-**, MZ-*, SMC, ZX Spectrum, X1 and now C64 game called 'Bootskell'; A challenging Arcade game in which you need to kill the enemies in each of the many levels by squashing them with blocks.

Tachyon Dreams - The first episode of a new text-parser game with EGA graphics!

Love playing Adventure games? Check! Love those old Sierra Kings Quest style graphics with text based commands? Check! Then 'Tachyon Dreams', developed by a fan of Sierra games as Cosmic Void for your home PC is just the game for you!  This is the first chapter in what the developer hopes will be a series of humorous, text-parser games with EGA graphics that will look and feel very much like the mid/late 80's adventure games by Sierra. Think early Space Quest games. Think AGI. 

Inviyya - In development Amiga Shoot Em Up looks super cool!


The Amiga is coming in hotter than the weather for this month, as after already mentioning Athanor 2, and Earok's work in progress Scorpion Engine, along comes another video update for the in-development Amiga shoot em up 'Inviyya'. This game being developed by TigerSkunk, Triace and Premium for the Amiga 500 and up, was first announced via the EAB forums in October 2016, and going by the latest footage is looking like a game of the year experience for the Amiga community.

Blazing Chrome - Seriously cool Contra styled game gets a release!


With Odallus: The Dark Call and Oniken under their belt, the developer JoyMasher are certainly no strangers to developing a varied selection of decent retro inspired games. But now it looks as if they are about to top all of them in quality, as they have once again mentioned their seriously cool looking Contra styled game of ' Blazing Chrome ', but this time the game has finally been released on Steam, GOG PS4, Xbox and Nintendo Switch much to the excitement of the Indie and Retro community!

King's Valley - Konami's platformer is coming to the C64 via Psytronik Software


Thanks to a heads up via Hársfalvi Gábor in the Commodore 64/128 group, we've been told ' King's Valley '; which is a port of the MSX version first released in 1985, and also as an apperance via MS-DOS in the 80's and as an unofficial port in 2009 on the ZX Spectrum by RetroWorks. Will becoming to the C64 via Psytronik Software in association with RE.BIT Magazine! Yes indeed this game of which we have mentioned many times before during the preview stage will soon be making its way to the C64!

Misplaced - A new Megadrive release from RetroSouls


RetroSouls that are known for many great homebrew games just released a new title for the Megadrive/Genesis called “Misplaced”. RetroSouls describes Misplaced as a small experimental puzzler. The goal is to collect crystals and placing them on altars to progress to the next level. To help the character to collect all the crystals that sometimes are located on hard to reach places you can use your very snazzy magical glasses that lets you record your steps and then with a press of a button you can replay the path you just recorded. If you liked the puzzle part of RetroSouls game Alter Ego then you should definitely check this out!

RESHOOT R - An awesome looking Amiga game by Richard Löwenstein gets a release!


Another Amiga update this week as we were recently informed by Saberman, that Richard Löwenstein has now released his incredible looking side scrolling shoot em up of ' RESHOOT R '. This game coded in pure assembler language, is an awesome looking game that follows in the same style as the original game of RESHOOT, but instead is a far more intense experience with more colours, graphics, gameplay and thumping tunes.

Rygar AGA - An Amiga conversion of a great Arcade game gets a new beta!


We've been talking about the Amiga AGA conversion of the legendary Rygar game by Tecmo for sometime now, going back as far as when it was first announced last year much to the excitement of the Amiga community. Well after many updates and many shout outs through Amiga Bill's Twitch Stream, we are here to tell you there's been a new update improving on an already great work in progress conversion.

Chip Rescue - A new Speccy game from Romancha!


Another heads up from Saberman and again a ZX Spectrum game, as we've just been told Romancha had released a platformer called ' Chip Rescue ', which works on both 48k and 128k ZX Spectrums. This game that was coded using his own software including excel for sprites, puts you in control of a Special Agent on a mission to collect parts of a microchip before it is turned into a weapon and used against all of man kind.

Hunter TC - Action/Adventure classic total conversion for GZdoom (Doom port) teased


Let's go back in time, right back to 1991 when Activsion released 'Hunter' for the Amiga and Atari ST. An action-adventure game that by today's view point would be classed as a Battlefield 4, Grand Theft Auto and Far Cry mix. Expansive, open worlds, a military theme, and the focus on small squads of soldiers or lone heroes. Well if you remember this fine game, then you'll be pleased to know Cherno was working on a total conversion based on the 1991 Amiga game, but instead using GZdoom which in-itself is a Doom port.

Mashed Turtles - A surprisingly enjoyable Frogger inspired C64 game


It's time to put aside the controversial Super Mario C64 news, which is *ahem* still available throughout the globe just not on one particular site ;). As we have come across a rather enjoyable Frogger inspired game called 'Mashed Turtles', which has been released for the C64. This game originally developed by Fandal+PG for the Atari 8bit, is a multiplayer port by Angelsoft, with spirtes by Dorndof that supports up to 8 players of turtle squashing fun.

Splat! - A ZX Spectrum game reviewed by Florinthedwarf.

SPLAT! Now that I've got your attention, let's talk about this game. Maze games can be a little repetitive, left, right, right, right, left, left etc. pick something up, get stuck, turnaround, right, left - you get the picture. But what if I told you that this was a maze game with a difference? 'You lie!' you cry; but alas this time, I'm not. What if there was a maze game where the walls moved around as well as you. 'That would be crazy!' you would say. Well, welcome to Crazyland*.

1337 Karate - Fight the competition in this Karate game released at Revision 2019.



Yet another Saberman heads up and no not an Amiga game, is this C64 karate based preview called ' 1337 Karate ' by Abyss Connection which pits you against the computer or another player in a multitude of karate competitions. Yes indeed if you loved playing games such as International Karate, IK+, or even Street Fighter, then read on as I think you'll agree this game could almost be described as a blend of those games rolled into one.

Star MIG - Blast away enemies in space in this SEUCK Compo C64 shooter


I know many of you are still calming down after finding out that the C64 version of Super Mario Bros was not fake but the real deal, but you might also be interested in playing this fine little shoot em up that was released recently called ' Star MIG '. Now unlike the platforming fun of Super Mario Bros, this one is a top scrolling shoot em up developed by VG VOX, with music by Richard Bayliss and SEUCK Version standard by Sensible Soff

Neutron - Awesome looking C64 Shoot em up in dev by Sarah Jane Avory gets a wicked teaser!


As many of you know by now, the ex-SEGA game developer and author: Sarah Jane Avory is working on a fabulous RPG for the C64 called ' Briley Witch Chronicles ', which by all accounts isn't just a good looking game, but will have lots of interesting features that is sure to whet your appetite. Sadly this isn't an update about Briley which is still in development, but the good news is she is working on another game, which looks to be an awesome looking Shoot em up called ' Neutron '.

Amiga Power: The Album With Attitude - A tune banging retro remix Kickstarter success!


What a great way to start a Monday as we can officially announce that the Amiga Power : The Album With Attitude Kickstarter, is a huge success after we helped pushed it over that last threshold! This new Kickstarter from Matthew Smith, is a serious treat for Amiga game and or music lovers, as it will feature not just a Mighty Booklet, but two discs spanning over 30 tracks of remixes from classic games such as Apidya, Banshee, Blob and many many more!

Aliens: Neoplasma - Aliens have arrived on the ZX Spectrum!


In terms of retro gaming announcements, we have been blown away this week with news of games such as Rygar AGA, Tenebra Macabre, Dizzy and The Mushrooms Pie, PTM, Redshift and even Moritz to the Moon to keep us company. Well it looks as if there's a bigger shocker of an announcement for today, as we have been told via Facebook that Sanchez crew (Russian Federation)  has released their latest horror platformer Aliens: Neoplasma for the ZX Spectrum!

Tiki Taca - Ultimate Atic Atac inspired game from Climacus and Errazking!


This week has been one of those weeks...The site computer all but keels over, the weather isn't that great and headaches are getting in the way! Oh well at least there's good news for this evening, as we've been told by Saberman that Climacus and Errazking's Atic Atac inspired remake of ' Tiki Taca ', is available to play right now on your ZX Spectrum via the ZX DEV MIA Remakes competition.
