Barbarian+ - Female warrior added to the upcoming enhanced version of a classic

It's boiling here in the uk and writing under no Aircon is a struggle, but at least we've got some good news to share as we've just been informed that the upcoming enhancement of Barbarian that is being worked on by Ten Shu, Colin Vella and Simone Bernacchia as Barbarian+ for the Commodore Amiga. Has just been teased again but this time with a new video showing a female warrior added to the game. For those that missed any previous announcements they are also working on a Warrior type, skin and kit colour selection, gore option menu.

The Tragic Tale of Bark Scruffalo - Retro inspired action game in a Game Boy style

As a fan of the Gameboy and all those games that are inspired by that great hand held, I was pleased to see that Polynaut had released his retro inspired action game of ' The Tragic Tale of Bark Scruffalo', that looks very much like a Gameboy game but is available for the PC. In this game you play as a faithful Dog owner who must protect a lovable pet Bark Scruffalo at all costs from creepy creatures spawning out of the unknown.

Elderborn - Dungeoneering first person slasher gets new Gamescom footage

Although I am a massive fan of grid based dungeon crawlers, sometimes I like to put them aside and play games such as Skyrim or the much older kick and slasher 'Dark Messiah of Might and Magic', but there's one game shown off with new footage that caught my eye today that's very similar to those games, and that's Elderborn developed by Hyperstrange. If you like free movement, the slashing of enemies with weapons in hand, and the exploration of dungeons and caves then read on!

The Sword of IANNA - Sword slashing retro platformer is coming to multiple systems

What a great week this has been so far for the community, what with the recently announced Organism and Argus on the C64, but there's one game you really should have on your watch list, if you have an MSX or ZX Spectrum, and that's the action slasher platformer ' The Sword of IANNA ' by RetroWorks. Now if you've never heard of RetroWorks, they have released a ton of fantastic retro games such as Vade Retro, The Charm, and Teodoro can't fly for many different systems, the only draw back are the storylines as you can get lost with the amount of reading involved!

Armed with Wings: Rearmed - Stylish hack 'n slasher platformer is coming June 1st!

Take a pinch of the latest Japanese animation with spectacular Ninja/Samurai moves and blend it with a dark and dilapidated world and you'll most likely have 'Armed with Wings Rearmed'; a 2D action hack 'n slash platformer developed by Sun-Studios that will soon be exiting Steam Early Access and launching officially on June 1st 2017 for Windows. Control a capable hero and a cunning eagle to save the world from darkness, travel through various lands and underground passageways that challenge the player's ability to solve puzzles, engage enemies and platforms.

Moonstone Preview V2 - C64 preview of an Amiga hack and slasher classic

If you've got an Amiga and a C64 or just remember playing both of them through the years, then this piece of news is sure to blow your mind! As the 1991 Amiga Mindscape classic ' Moonstone : A Hard Days Knight ' has been teased on the C64 as a preview. Titled as ' Moonstone Preview V2 +D ' and made available by Onslaught, this is a very early dev port of the most incredible and gorish Amiga hack and slasher/beat em up game of its time.

Book of Demons - Unique paper hack n slash dungeon crawler coming to Steam Early Access (28th of July)

During the early part of this year we gave you the big heads up for Thing Trunks hack n slash RPG dungeon crawler ' Book of Demons ', which was due to be released towards the end of 2016. Mahluk Dark demon - A very dark platformer needs your greenlight votes

We get so many platformers it may bore some of you who visit the site, so I feel the best way forward is to mention ones that I personally feel deserve that greenlight thumbs up. This is especially true of ' Mahluk : Dark demon ' which is a rather dark and atmospheric hack and slash platformer that is currently going through a Steam Greenlight campaign. In this game you play as Mahluk a dark glowing eye'd demon, that must stop the forces of darkness and the evil king Kindar, as a quest for redemption!

GRIM DAWN - An incredible action RPG is now available on GOG at 10% off!

Are you ready to play in my opinion one of the greatest action RPG's, that comes very close to the original Diablo and more enjoyable than Path of Exile, then you really should take a look at the latest addition to the GOG line up of ' GRIM DAWN ', developed by Crate Entertainment. A big Kickstarter success and further development through Early Access, GRIM DAWN is a top quality Action RPG that will keep you hooked for hours! It has many monsters, hundreds of lootable items, multiple class types, a skill tree, lovely graphical detail and some of the best gameplay I've personally experienced for some time. Eitr - An action RPG you'll not want to miss!

Developed by Eneme Entertainment in partnership with Devolver Digital, 'Eitr' is the latest Action RPG that is at the highest point on my wishlist. It is an Indie game that doesn't just have great pixel art, but it looks to take on Diablo with inspirations from Dark Souls and Golden Axe and give the genre a kick up the rear. The game according to the developers, will be challenging, require timing and precision as players need to use a combination of blocking, combos, buffs and positioning to succeed in battle. In light of this news the creators have released a gameplay trailer!

Umbra - Diablo 2 styled action RPG is highest grossing Kickstarter game campaign from France to date!

The developer 'SolarFall Games' must be overwhelmed today as they have announced that not only is their open world RPG of 'Umbra' a Kickstarter and Steam Greenlight success, but they have smashed their Kickstarter goal with an incredible $406,979 - 181% funded. As such it is now the highest grossing Kickstarter campaign, for a videogame, from France to date! Umbra is powered by CryEngine 3 and blends the hack and slash game play with state of the art graphics and truly modern AI inspired by the hit classic Diablo 2.

Reikon Dungeon - 3D Roguelike gets a Steam Greenlight campaign

Described as a 3D roguelike dungeon crawler, 'Reikon Dungeon' is a hack and slash style voxel game with real time action, where the player gets to explore infinite dungeons and hunt down deadly monsters. Developed by Alcapa Games, Reikon Dungeon is currently going through a Steam Greenlight campaign and once a success will be available through early access.

Diablo 1 HD MOD - Belzebub - Demonic ARPG classic gets a glorious overhaul

Wojtek25, that guy from Diablo, has once again given us the prod to take a look at probably the best HD mod of Diablo you'll ever see. Titled "Diablo 1 HD MOD", codenamed Belzebub, overhauls many aspects of the Action RPG hit, that had gamers glued to the screen killing horrific beasts, collecting loot and levelling up as you take control of a hero battling to rid the world of Diablo. Spirit Blaze - Wicked cool ARPG from SilentWalker

Developed by SilentWalker and Gamejolt featured, Spirit Blaze is the latest free hack and slash RPG game to appear in our gaming list, and it's a pretty special title at that. Usually we don't get free hack and slash games of this caliber but when it comes Spirit Blaze it's a wicked cool game that everyone should give it a try. With special attacks like dash and combo moves you've got all angles covered and believe me you'll need those moves with the amount of enemies you'll need to fight.
