Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight - A PC portable edition of an incredible Amiga classic

Someone stop me from fainting, as TheCompany.pl has just released v2.6 of the remastered version of Moonstone: A Hard Days Knight. This was the most incredible and gorish Amiga hack and slash/Beat Em Up game of it's time, which was developed and published by Mindscape in 1991. You the player, take on the role of a knight who is sent by the druids to return the mystical 'moonstone' to Stonehenge. You probably would've turned down the deed if you had known how brutal your life may end in ths game. Through each fighting scene you could end up fighting any number of strange beasts, and this pretty much determines your end death. You'll either end up being smashed into a pulp, ripped in half, eaten or spiked through the chest! Can you be the greatest knight and return the mystical "moonstone" ?

Wrath Of The Demon - PC playable Amiga Remakes/Remastered (Action/Adventure)

Thecompany.pl has released another fantastic PC playable Amiga Remake/Remastered game and this time it's none other than Wrath of the Demon. This title was released in 1991 for a multiple of versions, and the main one being the Amiga. The game itself had a number of gameplay styles in one, from hacking and slashing at close range, to horse riding and more. It was a fun game for it's time, and some actually said the Amiga version was better, technically, than Shadow of the Beast 2, though he was probably mad at the time ;)

Heroes Of The Sword - Browser based action hack and slash

Every so often I get the chance to play the games I write about, and for the short time I played Heroes Of The Sword, it was a very enjoyable experience. It's also a free browser based game, against other players online. This involves a lot of hacking and slashing while jumping on certain platforms, yes you can also use throwing weapons as well. You get a quick glimpse of the game through a tutorial and learn that sword attacking is done by mouse cursor slash movement. If you swipe the cursor up, your character slashes up and so on. Standard controls for movement, though space is the better option for jumping.

Retro Arcade Adventure Remade - Arcade hack and slash

Another unusual game that is about to arrive this Thursday for Xbox 360 and later PC is Retro Arcade Adventure Remade from developers Siactro. This being an Arcade hack and slash style game, with plenty of enemies to fight in a top down view, although it does have two mini games. You'll also be fighting huge mini bosses, especially those that loom over the horizon towards you! But even these come with a twist, like slashing back projectiles. The character would also look pretty decent in an nes style Zelda game, with his sword and the use of potions.

Hammerwatch - Hack and slash action adventure (Demo Update)

Inspired by the Gauntlet series but with "elements that force you to think just a little bit more" is a game that looks so cool we just had to mention it, again, but this time Hammerwatch comes with a beta demo. This is a Solo or 4-player co-op hack and slash adventure, a new offering from Jochum Skoglund and Niklas Myrberg.
