I'm sure many of you remember the Street Fighter games, more especially Street Fighter 2; a game which originally appeared on the Arcades, and was then ported to pretty much every system you could think of. Well fast forward to today however and do we have some truly stonking news for you! As thanks to Xfixium who released the incredible Golden Axe Tyris Flare edition, he is now working on a Sega Master System graphical hack of that classic game "Street Fighter II: Champion Edition".
Last Action Hero - An enhanced(hack) version of a 1994 brawler via AmigaLive!
While I do try to avoid writing on weekends, this was too good not to spread the word! As thanks to both Earok and Saberman letting us know earlier today, they have told us that AmigaLive has made available a hack of the Amiga version of the 1994 game 'Last Action Hero'. As in the words of Earok "AmigaLive did a hack of the Last Action Hero awhile ago, I got permission to repost it here. It features a raft of gameplay balance tweaks to improve on the notorious film tie in."
Starfox EX - This Hack takes the 90's hit game to the next level!
Day in day out we get the latest updates from around the world of games being released, or are in development. But when it comes to this gem of a hack which is available for the classic arcade style rail shooter of 'Starfox,' I just had to give it a shout out. Ghouls 'n Ghosts ARCADE EDITION that's in development for the SEGA Mega Drive looks super cool!
In 1988 Capcom released one of the finest Arcade games ever to grace the gaming scene, and that game was the incredible Ghouls 'n Ghosts which appeared on lots of different systems. It is a game that if you haven't played it, you are seriously missing out! So as a shout out to that awesome game of which I have played a lot, we have just found out through @ray_castello, that aMaru is working on a graphical hack of the Sega Mega Drive version which makes the game look super duper awesome!
Prince of Persia - HOT NEWS as a fabulous Sega Mega Drive remaster has been released!
Another great news story for you all, as we have just been told through twitter that the all time classic platformer of 'Prince of Persia'; a game which has been released for many different systems back in 1989 by Broderbund, has finally been made available as an incredible remaster for the Sega Mega Drive by Master Linkuei! Prince of Persia is not only a game that featured lots of well designed platforming levels, but the game is full of danger as you must be careful not to fall through loose floors, get hit by sword wielding guards, crushed by gates or at worst skewered in blood on deadly spikes.
Rygar - A classic game gets a graphical overhaul on the ZX Spectrum
Even more awesome gaming news as we've just learnt that Rygar the Legendary Warrior; a video game created and released by Tecmo in 1986 for the Arcades and later ported to the Sharp X68000, C64, ZX Spectrum, NES, Master System and Lynx, has been given a graphical overhaul on the ZX Spectrum! Yes you read that right, this side scrolling platformer which pits you against strange beasts, that was also given an amazing port on the Amiga(link), has now been much improved on the speccy!
Donkey Kong - Atari 8-bit Arcade HACK has finally been released for all to enjoy!
Way back in 2016 we mentioned Darryl1970's Atari 8-bit Arcade hack of Nintendo's 1981 original classic ' Donkey Kong ', in which you played as Mario that must avoid obstacles across a number of platforms, with sometimes a hammer in hand to save a damsel in distress from a giant ape called Donkey Kong. Well there's good news today as through many months of writing and thanks to a heads up by our good friend John Shawler. We can finally announce Darryl1970 in conjunction with Playsoft, has released the final version of the hack which brings it much closer to the Arcade original!

During the late 80's Namco released a brilliant arcade racing game called Pole Position, which was designed by Tōru Iwatani, designer of Pac-Man, ending up as one of the most popular arcade racing games of 1982-3. Well if you remember this game AND you played it on one of the many systems this game came on such as the Atari 8-bit, you'll be pleased to know John Shawler has contacted us to tell you a hack of the game has been released giving a slight improvement to the graphics.

Even more great retro gaming finds for this week, as we have just learnt José Tomás Parga has released a rom hack of Montezuma's Revenge and added 72 new rooms, giving a new lease of life to this classic game which was released in the early 80's for the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 8-bit, Apple II, ColecoVision, Commodore 64, IBM PC, Sega Master System, and even the ZX Spectrum.

Montezuma's Revenge was an original game from the early 80's for the Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Atari 8-bit, Apple II, ColecoVision, Commodore 64, IBM PC, Sega Master System, and ZX Spectrum. It combines treasure hunting, lots of rooms, dangerous enemies and deadly fire traps as a highly recommended classic game to play.

@matteusbeus the creator of the upcoming Crypt of Dracula is on the ball for the Sega Master System, as once again he has just tweeted us a rather special update that is sure to excite even the hardiest of Sega gamers. Unlike the previous video we showed in relation to high fidelity audio, this one is downloadable as a patch that replaces the voice samples in Space Harrier with data taken from the original arcade game!
Cleopatra no Mahou - The last RPG that Square made before Final Fantasy is fully translated
We haven't featured many translation hacks for a while now because of being so busy with other articles but now is the time to tune in RPG retro gamers, as we've just learnt that the full English translation of Cleopatra no Mahou has been released and is not to be missed. Yes indeed, Cursed Treasure of Cleopatra ( English name ), published by Square in 1987 for the Family Computer Disk System is regarded as the RPG that made Square call their next RPG Final Fantasy now can be played and understood by all!
Super Mario Ultimate - A full hack of Super Mario Bros 3 on the NES!
It seems as if people can't get enough of Mario, as throughout the previous year we had seen countless rom hacks released that either change the game into a different story, or completely overhaul the game with new graphics. Once such Mario game, as in Super Mario Bros 3, has got a new rom hack today and it's called 'Super Mario Ultimate' released by Silas; a very large hack of Super Mario Bros 3 from the NES!

I have a bit of a soft spot for the Vectrex ever since I played one some years ago at the GEEK event in Margate. It was a system that was developed by Western Technologies/Smith Engineering in 1982, and unlike most systems, this little beauty had an integrated vector monitor which displays vector graphics with optional plastic screen overlays, to simulate colour and designs!

What a great start to Monday as during the weekend the Romhacking website gave mention to a rather special Rom hack called ' Castlevania 5 ' for the original Castlevania released in 1986 on the NES. This hack by xXbelmontXx isn't just your usual tweak of a famous game, but will make it feel fresh and new with not just new graphics, but new stage designs, new sprites, new music, even a new ending screen!

Another awesome heads up by our translation source Romhacking as they have said the action role playing game 'Star Cruiser II: The Odysseus Project ' published by Arsys for the PC-98, has been fully English translated by Nebulous Translations! First released in the mid 90's, Star Cruiser II was only ever released in Japan and is the sequel to Star Cruiser, which came out initially for PC-88 and was later ported to many other systems.
