This year has just been fantastic for the Amstrad CPC with a ton of Amstrad homebrew games to spoil us, but even though we had the incredible Amiga to Amstrad port of Pinball Dreams, we haven't finished with the Amstrad yet. Now you may remember our big article on the very impressive looking homebrew remake of Street Fighter II titled 'Street Fighter II - CPC Edition' which is being developed by DaDMaN, and AugustoRuiz for the Amstrad CPC 6128 (128Kb RAM). Well at the end of last month a new video tease was released, showing us just how far the game has progressed and what it's like to actually play.
Docsters Digger - A Bonus C64 game released with Mancave in 2019 gets a Plus/4 port by 220 Volt Team (220V)
During 2019 Psytronik Software released(link) a C64 game by Megastyle called ' Mancave '; a game which follows the hilarious adventures of Richard Morningwood who has the unfortunate task of gathering up the pages of some rather naughty magazines that have been nabbed from his secret stash by his pesky kids. Well if you were fortunate enough to purchase that great C64 game, and the bonus game contained within called ' Docster's Digger '. Will be pleased to know that 220 Volt Team (220V) has recently ported 'Docster's Digger' over to the Plus/4!
Worriorz - 80's classic 'Wizard of Wor' is coming to the Amiga as a remake by 2ndmoon
Remember the days spent down at the Arcades, hearing the beeps and bops from the different machines, the coloured lights flashing all around, and money being lost for hours worth of enjoyment? Then you might be interested to know that the 1980's Arcade game of Wizard of Wor, which also appeared on the Atari 8-bit, Atari 2600, Atari 5200, Bally Astrocade and C64, is coming over to the Commodore Amiga by 2ndmoon as a remake from the C64 version.
Boxx 2 Remake - A colourful platformer for the Amiga by Lemming880 is being remade via Scorpion Engine! (Beta 0.1)
Lemming880 has been mentioned a number of times on Indie Retro News, with games appearing such as Boxx, Boxx 2, Boxx 3 and even Boxx 4. Well here with another Amiga news story from the same creator, as he has released a beta remake of 'Boxx 2'. An enjoyable game originally from 2015 created in Backbone, which is currently being ported over to Earok's excellent Scorpion Engine using graphics by Koyot1222. To coincide with this news, Saberman was kind enough to do another video showing the beta in action.

Bomberbot - A fun for all the family Arcade game for the ZX Spectrum by Gabriele Amore
Gabriele Amore is certainly no stranger to us and the homebrew scene, as throughout the years of features on Indie Retro News he has released many brilliant ZX Spectrum games that range from highly challenging to pick up and play for all the family! Well here's another game from this creator that we recommend, and it's his latest game called Bomber Bot. A fun for all the family Arcade game for the ZX Spectrum in which could be described as a Bomber Man inspiration! To coincide with this news, we have some new footage of the game thanks to Saberman who has also done a video below.
Aliens NeoPlasma - A great Aliens themed ZX Spectrum game that should be experienced on a ZX Spectrum Next!
It wasn't long ago now that we had the pleasure of playing the awesome game 'Aliens NeoPlasma ' on the Spectrum which was developed by Sanchez crew (Russian Federation); a horror platformer as their own take on the Aliens movie theme complete with friendly face-huggers. Well fast forward to this month however and as a great heads up by Liqmatrix in our inbox, we've been told this great game has been uploaded to itch.io for both the ZX Spectrum and ZX Spectrum NEXT. Although do be aware these are not NEW games, I just didn't get the chance to feature the NEXT version until now.
Cursed Tomb - Enter an ancient grave of unknown origin in this C64 game by Protovision
This week we've been flooded with ZX Spectrum games, so to change all that, here's a new(?) release that is sure to be enjoyed by many, and it's Protovision's latest game of 'Cursed Tomb'; a game which as you guessed it isn't going to be a game of pretty flowers, unicorns and love hearts! To coincide with this news story not only do we have some screenshots from the game, but at some point later today Saberman is also going to upload a video showing the game in action.
Pentacorn Quest - A great ZX Spectrum homebrew appears on the MSX1
Way back in 2015 we announced the release of a gorgeous ZX Spectrum game by José Ignacio RodrÃguez and powered by The Mojon Twins called 'Pentacorn Quest'; A platformer which was regarded as a highly recommended and fun for all the family game. Well fast forward to this week however, and we've recently been informed by ArnaudDeKlerk, that Pentacorn Quest has now been released for the MSX1 via the MSXdev23 competition by Robosoft.To coincide with this news, we have some further information about the game below including another screenshot and a video soon from Saberman.
Hyperdrive - An awesome Shoot 'em up released for the Amstrad CPC/GX4000 by Juan J. MartÃnez
Another HOT news story has appeared in our inbox, as if you enjoyed any of Juan J. MartÃnez's homebrew games such as Night Knight, Magica or even Brick Rick then as of today you can play his brand new Amstrad game of 'Hyperdrive'. A super smooth top scrolling Shoot em up, in which you need to blast away enemy waves throughout all of the 5 stages to win the game. In light of this Amstrad news, Xenomorph and Saberman was kind enough to provide some footage of the game viewable below.
DRIFT! 2K22 - A rather cool car game from 2019 for the ZX Spectrum by ZOSYA entertainment gets an upgrade
ZOSYA entertainment have made some incredible ZX Spectrum games throughout the years, games such as Drift!, Valley of Rains, Travel Through Time Volume 1, Angels and even the latest Adventure game of Don Quixot for the 16k and above. Well here we are with another announcement from this homebrew creator, as they have released a rather large improvement to their 2019 ZX Spectrum game DRIFT; a seriously cool looking game whereby the aim is to drift around a set amount of laps for a high score.
Jimmy's Lost Fruits - A lovely NES inspired platformer gets a musical update!
If you're looking for a new NES inspired game to try and want one to satisfy your retro gaming needs, then look no further than this latest news story! As we have just found out by looking through itch io, that you can now download the latest musical update of swackyGCF's charming homebrew NES inspired game of 'Jimmy's Lost Fruits'; a very challenging platformer which doesn't just feature 32 levels, but boss fights and secrets to find!
Lala Prologue - A stunning platformer by the Mojon Twins gets an Amstrad CPC release
Ladies and Gentlemen, Amstrad owners across the globe! Mojon Twins creators of SGT.Helmet Training Day 2020 and CHE-MAN are back with another stunning retro gaming release. As we've just been told by XeNoMoRPH through our emails, that they have released a new game called 'Lala Prologue '; a game that isn't just an inspiration to the great The Mojon Twins NES game Lala The Magical, but was also a hit game by Digital Monastery for the C64, CPlus/4 & VIC-20.
Venture - 1981 arcade game Venture for the Commodore 64!
Here on Indie Retro News we do like hearing about Arcade games that have been lost and found, or more recent conversions over to systems such as the Amiga, Atari, Amstrad, C64 or ZX Spectrum. Well here we are with another fine story for all you retro gamers out there. As we have recently found out through Facebook that 'Venture'; a game originally released in 1981 as a fantasy arcade game that later appeared on the ColecoVision and then finally the Atari 2600 and Intellivision, has been converted over to the C64 by Donnie Russell!
EON AMIGA AGA - Another video shown of this rather eye opening in-dev Amiga port
Another Amiga news story has appeared in our inbox that's worthy of a mention, as if you remember when we posted about the upcoming game called 'EON', which is an Amiga AGA game that looks very much like the classic Shadow of the Beast. Then as of this weekend the developers AmigaWave and Goblin have posted a brand new video! For those of you who haven't heard of this game before, it was apparently released way back in 2014 by Worderboy Bobi, as a short playable PC demo, inspired by games such as Shadow of the Beast or Lion Heart and classed as an action RPG with skill and items progression.
Ooze : The Escape - A fabulous ZX Spectrum game available via itch io!
From the same developer who brought you Monty's Honey Run and Monty Mole and the Lost Souls, Andy Johns has since announced that his previously released 2017 ZX Spectrum game of ' Ooze ', has now been made available through itch io. For those of you who don't remember this game, it is a high quality platformer that also features menu art and code by David Saphier, as well as menu music by Miguel/CPU and some in game music by Rayden/Vitali.
Scorch - A Scorched Earth clone gets an early preview for the Atari XL/XE

This game might not look like much, with it's bare backgrounds and tiny coloured objects, but this is actually a preview Atari XL/XE release, that comes across very much like Scorched Tanks on the Amiga and the MS-DOS game Scorched Earth. Developed by pirx and as a multiplayer game with up to 2 players so far, your ultimate goal is to wipe out your opponent by working out the correct trajectory that your Baby Missile flies through the air and hits dead on target!
From Below - A great Tetris style game recently released for the NES is coming to the Game Boy
If you loved the 1984 game of Tetris or the 1989 game of Columns then you might like this latest news story featured here on IRN. As trawling through Facebook today, we have found out that the previously released NES game of ' From Below '; a game which gained positive feedback such as "This NES title was a great surprise", is now being developed for the Gameboy! As in the words of the creator Matt Hughson " I've started porting my NES game From Below to the Game Boy, shown here is the GB Color version running on Super Game Boy with a custom border".
Jewel Warehouse 2 - EgoTrip is back with another Jewel and Trap Amstrad game!
Another homebrew this week and following the same genre of a puzzler, as we were recently informed via XeNoMoRPH, that EgoTrip has released his latest game of 'Jewel Warehouse 2'; a sequel to the 2016 game of the same name which was also released for the Amstrad CPC. In this rather challenging release, you play as Amy and must collect all the power crystals before the Cyborg Queen's arrival. But as is always the case, it wont be easy, as this Warehouse is not only a bit of a mess but there's dangerous enemies and traps that will do you harm!
