Robots Rumble - A great puzzle game now for the cplus/4 and VIC-20
It was only just the other day that we mentioned that a new game was released for the C64 by Digital Monastery called ' Robots Rumble '; a game that was originally developed by Miguetelo Art for the ZX Spectrum 48k and 128k in September of last year, as an enjoyable game, albeit very challenging puzzler with the use of magnets to control a character. Well fast forward to today and Eric Majikeyric has told us Hokuto Force has finally released the cplus/4 and VIC-20 conversions, whereby everyone can now get the chance to play this lovely little game.
Robots Rumble - A great puzzle game for the Commodore 64 has been released
Another day and yet again another great game has appeared, as we've recently been contacted by Hokuto Force, that Digital Monastery has now released a puzzle platformer called ' Robots Rumble '. Now if you've heard of this game before, that's because it was first released by Miguetelo Art for the ZX Spectrum 48k and 128k in September of last year, and as we said the game was fun to play, very challenging and had the unique idea of using magnets to control a character!
Goldrake - C64 Shoot em up based on a 1970's anime/cartoon
The C64 scene hasn't finished with us yet, as moments ago we were contacted by Saberman, that the C64 game based on the 1970's Manga UFO Robo Grendizer called ' Goldrake ', has recently been released by The Hokuto Force. This game classed as a shoot em up and developed using SEUCK, is inspired by a classic cartoon and features graphics and music by VG VOX.

Robots Rumble - A puzzle game for the Commodore 64 (PAL/NTSC) is coming!

Double Dragon - A proper version of a classic game coming to the C64!
Even to this day, if you ask someone what they thought of Double Dragon, and they'd probably tell you of an awesome beat em up game released in 1987, that gave you the option to play two twin martial artists who could kick, punch and throw enemies off scene through many different levels. Well if you had this game on pretty much every system going but felt the C64 version was awful, well happy days as it looks as if Majikeyric of Hokuto Force is working on his own proper version of that classic game.
ZX Art C64 - A tribute to the ZX Spectrum on the C64
When Andy Green contacts us it's usually about his ZX Spectrum art work that he has done for the latest homebrew game, or much older ZX Spectrum titles that needed a damn good touch up. But not this time! As earlier today he contacted us, to let us know Hokuto Force had released in tribute to the ZX Spectrum, ZX Art on the C64. Yes indeed many of the greatest works of art on the on the ZX Art website, have been converted over to the C64 by Hokuto Force, with an inclusive kick ass soundtrack.
High Noon - Early C64 Western with extras from Hokuto Force
Back in 2015 when I joined Indie Retro News, there weren't so many brand new C64 games being released, so we used to fill our blog with news from the various cracking groups. I particularly liked Hokuto Force's releases because they focused on re-releases of those lesser known titles that most of us probably missed the first time around. Hokuto Force never stopped, but recently our C64 news has focused more on all the new and recent releases which are coming so fast, I feel like we've kind of deserted the "sceners", who pretty much kept the C64 alive for many years single handed with a constant stream of games and demos. So I thought I'd check out Hokuto Force's latest release (in collaboration with Mad Hackers Inc.): A new version of Ocean's 1984 Western shooter: High Noon. So let's take a look and see how it plays.

C64 Weekly Roundup - Exiting new projects, more amazing sound tricks and more!
Welcome to roundup #8. This week has seen more amazing project announcements, also FM-YAM a new sound device built into a C64 cartridge, and Hokuto Force have worked their magic on a few forgotten gems. I will also shamelessly plug my own channel, as I am making a brand new C64 SEUCK game for The New Dimension's 2018 SEUCK compo, in collaboration with my viewers, live on TwitchTV.
Digger - IBM PC classic remade for the C64 and it's GOOD!
After HayesMaker's big C64 round up was done, we didn't think any new games would come soon after the article was finished. But yet here we are with a brand new remake of a game called Digger, which has been released by the (Digital Monastery) Hokuto Force Game Developing Division for the C64 . Now if you remember this game released on the IBM PC way back in 1983 by Windmill Software, you'll be pleased to know this version is a complete remake of that game to the C64 with a rather awesome tape loader by Richard Bayliss.
C64 Roundup Weekly - Another exceptional week for C64 news! [Breaking news update]
Peter Pack Rat - Hokuto Force re-releases a C64 ratty classic with a number of fixes!
If you've heard of Pack Rat before then you were probably around in the 80's playing it in the Arcades or at home playing the Arcade conversion either on an Amstrad, C64 or ZX Spectrum. This game which was released back in 1985 by Atari Games, was ported over to home computers in 1989 by Software Creations and featured a very chirpy soundtrack by Tim Follin. The only problem with the C64 version however according to Hokuto Force was it had a few issues which of course they have set out to fix.
Axe of Rage - Aptly named C64 horror story fixed by Hokuto Force
Known in Europe as Barbarian 2, Axe of Rage was released in North America by Epyx in 1988. Barbarian 2 (Palace Software) was banned in Boots in the UK for featuring a pin-up model on the cover. The name and cover change on the North American licence, probably an attempt by Palace and Epyx to avoid such controversy. Although the game still managed to be banned by a wholesaler in Canada, because, I dunno, the guy's face on the cover was too ugly or something. While Barbarian 2 cracks are two-a-penny on CSDB, Hokuto Force have managed a smart release here, by properly PAL fixing this version which was itself a rather lazy NTSC port of the European original.
Penetrator - Superb C64 Scramble clone with level editor gets new release
Brand new C64 releases are happening almost weekly now, so it's quite easy to miss some of the great releases Hokuto Force and other groups are bringing out. But here's a classic one, which you may well have missed because it's not had a crack release before. This is Penetrator, for the C64. Created by Bruce Bayley, and released by Melbourne House in 1984. And for such an early release C64 game, it plays fun, fast and even has a built in level editor and save facility. And while the level editor is somewhat limited by modern standards, it's still a great touch and massively increases the replayability of a game like this.
