Rubicon +4DGHF - Tough C64 cookie to crack is trainered by Hokuto Force
Here's a game many of you C64 owners have heard of especially as some would say it looks nice on the outside but highly repetitive on the inside, is Twisted Minds/21st Century Entertainment's C64 shooter ' Rubicon ', which has since been given the +4DGHF treatment by Hokuto Force (one of the most hated game by the crackers for its protections). Now in this game you play as a gun blasting hero who has to make his way through many levels inhabited by mutated creatures to not only survive, but to diffuse a nuclear reactor after a horrific incident in Russia.
Iridis Alpha - Hokuto Force cracked and fixed Jeff Minter's Terrifying Twitch Shooter
Iridis Alpha was the creation of Jeff Minter (Llamasoft) and published by Hewson in 1986. Most cracked versions up until now have contained a bug which would crash the game on stage 4 under certain conditions. Hokuto Force have fixed the bug for this release and also fixed the game for NTSC machines, as well as some very handy training modes, a high score saver and of course fantastic documentation.
The Legend of Sinbad - Superior Software's 1986 C64 game gets a new crack and trainer!
Hokuto Force have created a new cracked version with inclusive trainer of Superior Software's 1986 The Legend of Sinbad for the C64. New features include a brand new "cracktro", and training modes which allow infinite lives, infinite time, removal of collisions from the green doors on level 1 and a much easier dragon boss level.
Feud +6DGF - A personal favourite is NTSC fixed and trainered via C64
One game that really stood out for me in the 80's and a game that is buried deep into my brain for all time, is Binary Design's and published by Bulldog Software's fighting sorcerers game ' Feud ', which has since been updated by Hokuto Force on the C64. This game that star'd two powerful twin sorcerers who hated each other named as Learic and Leanoric. Required the player to collect ingredients to mix into a cauldron to create defensive and offensive spells to defeat Leanoric, who had cast an aging curse on Learic and is also still out to get you.
Rogue +6DGM - A nice C64 roguelike fixed and fully playable by Hokuto Force
Moving on from all the tasty game jams we now look towards the C64, as Hokuto Force have released an enhanced, fixed, trainered and fully playable version of 'Rogue', which was originally released in the 1980's for the Amstrad CPC, C64 and ZX Spectrum under the Mastertronic Label, with other versions for the Amiga, DOS, Macintosh, TOPS-20, TRS-80 CoCo and Unix. Regarded as a turn-based dungeon crawling roguelike, you are an adventurer that must explore the Dungeons of Doom, to retrieve the precious Amulet of Yendor!
The Last Ninja 2 +8DG - Hokuto Force celebrates via the C64 with a big trainer and more!
Are you bored with nothing to play, then come and play a hit C64 classic that pretty much everyone has heard of from the 80's, and one of System 3's greatest action adventure games from 1988 'The Last Ninja 2'; which has now been re-released as a +8DG by Hokuto Force with more than just a quick improvement. This fabulous game has been given the once over by Hokuto Force and not only features graphics fixes, but also a full trainer and with inclusive 1581 version.
Katakis +6DHFI - Wicked C64 Shoot em up bug fixed and trainered by Hokuto Force
Moving away from the rather special heads up regarding Limbo on the C64, we now look towards Hokuto Force with their brilliant bug fix and trainer release for the 1988 Shoot em up ' Katakis ', which was first released by Rainbow Arts. Playing in a similar style to that of the hit game R-Type, this is a shoot em up in which you need to blast your way through many waves of enemies, picking up power ups along the way and finally destroying each of the end bosses to finally reach the core of the evil machines and retake the planet Katakis.

Guzzler +8DH - Pacman like maze with an ever fatter C64 rodent!
It's a Friday and for many the last day of a rather difficult week, so how about playing an old C64 game that has since been given its very first proper trainer to make it that much easier? Frank Bruno's Boxing +6DGH - Frank Bruno returns to the Commodore 64
Hokuto Force have added a nice trainer system in the style of a TV Ceefax Menu for Elite Software's Frank Bruno's Boxing. This was a pretty average boxing game from 1985, and clearly ripped off clone of Nintendo's Punch Out which at the time was only available in the arcades. There are quite a few extra options including unlimited health bar, No knock outs, Always full KO bar, unlimited time.
Legend of the Amazon Women - All female beat em up new C64 re-release
GENIUS +7D Into the Toy Warehouses - Apple II game comes over to the C64
Not long ago Daniele Liverani released the beta version of a new game called ' GENIUS - Into the Toy Warehouses ' for the Apple II. Apparently this first part in the trilogy was inspired by the Genius Rock Opera, which he created way back in the early 2000's. Yet fast forward to the end of 2016 and Hokuto Force has released the trainered C64 version, which not only makes it much easier to play but there's over 80 levels of enjoyment to last you through into 2017.
Lode Runner +6GD - A great game on the C64 gets the Hokuto Force treatment
When I was just a youngster one game I remember so fondly, was the 1980's classic Lode Runner. It was a game I used to play on a original monochrome Macintosh for many hours to the point of almost addiction. It was actually published by Brøderbund in 1983 and appeared on so many systems, although my preference would always be on the old MAC. In fact the C64 had many different versions differing in level design, speed and even containing an editor, but today's Lode Runner is the original, re-released today by Hokuto Force as both 1541 and 1581 disk based versions.
Frogger Arcade for the C64 - Hokuto Force ports a classic for Christmas
It is almost Christmas day and as a special release by Hokuto Force they have finally released the port remake of the Konami classic from 1981, ' Frogger '. Now known as ' Frogger Arcade ' and remade for the C64 by Inyaksa, with music by Snabel, Graphics by Alias Medron, Inyaksa and linking by The Overkiller is now more in line with the Arcade version unlike the original game. It features a top quality tape loader and screen, high quality C64 graphics, smooth controls and true to form Arcade game play which makes this a great Christmas release
Jail Break - Genre defining Konami shooter fixed for C64s
"Run and gun" games would come a long way in the year or two following the Arcade release of Jail Break by Konami. They would eventually perfect the format 1 year later with the release of Contra in the arcades, and 2 years later saw William's electronics release the excellent Narc, which caught controversy over it's "realistic" digitised sprites and ultra violent theme. However back in 1986, the arcades had not seen anything like this. Even Double Dragon would take another year to reach us. This is Jail break, a pseudo isometric side scrolling shoot em up, where the prisoners have escaped and taken over Manhattan. This release sees the game fixed for NTSC machines and an assortment of handy training modes for The C64 version.
Crazy Music - A new C64 game by Hokuto Force will give you hair loss!
Some more C64 games have appeared this week and the first one for mention is Digital Monastery's new C64 game, as a release by Hokuto Force; ' Crazy Music '. In this game you have been pulled into a crazed musical world that really doesn't like you for some reason. There are gnashing teeth, and flying pianos coming at you from all sides that really want to do you harm. Thankfully there are good things in this world as musical notes are there to help, collect enough of them and you'll finally be able to kill at least one of those menacing mouths and make the game that bit easier!
Wizard and Ultimate Wizard +2GMH - A fun C64 game via Hokuto Force for Halloween
Another C64 game released by Hokuto Force and this one is a double bill called ' Wizard and Ultimate Wizard +2GMH', which was originally released by EA and written by Sean A. Moore and Stephen Leudders in 1984-86. In this jolly platformer, you must guide Wilfrid the Wizard through each hazardous level, gathering items for bonus points and the final key to unlock the keyhole to move on to the next. Oh and if you are lucky enough to get hold of a spell, you could even use it against other enemies, how cool is that?

Jungle Drums +6HD - Hard platformer trained by Alpha Flight and Hokuto Force
Here we go again, it's another challenging C64 platformer that will make you lose your hair; ' Jungle Drums +6HD ' cracked and trainered by Alpha Flight and Hokuto Force. Released originally by Anirog Software and programmed by Stephen Hamilton in 1984, your task is to complete each level by gathering as much fruit as possible in a Jungle filled with lots of nasty creatures. It wont be easy however as this game requires quick reactions and lots of concentration as you try to avoid being hit while an ever depleting food supply needs to replenished.
