Spectacle - A new PC adventure inspired by games such as Shadowgate

Great news if you loved games such as Deju Vu, Uninvited or even my personal favourite Shadowgate, as we've just been told through our MS-DOS Gaming Facebook group, that GrahfMetal has released a PC game of similar style to those games called ' SPECTACLE '. This adventure game announced just recently, puts you in control of someone who is stranded in a magical desert kingdom with only your wits to keep you alive!

Lasagna Boy - Horror spiritual successor in a Game Boy style

The Game Boy was a huge part of my childhood, games such as Tetris, Mario, R-Type and even PaperBoy was played for many hours, even when trying to see the damn thing on long haul travels. So to see a new horror PC game called ' Lasagna Boy ' announced as spiritual successor to the original Lasagna Boy Classic with a Game Boy aesthetic, certainly got my attention enough to announce it on Indie Retro News!

JORRY - Point and click Adventure horror game available on Steam

Gamers who prefer a more horror oriented Adventure will be pleased with this news, as we've recently found out the Adventure horror game of ' JORRY ', has been released on Steam for the PC by Korozif. This game according to the creator, is a game filled with horror that is inspired by the classics of the 90's including not just action, but survival game play that is intended for adult audiences. So yes you can probably die being eaten alive!

The Shadow Over Hawksmill - A dark C64 Cthulhu inspired game gets a digital release!

Another retro gaming heads up for you all and one I think you'll agree is just as cool as the Rotator news, as thanks to a heads up on the Commodore 64/128 Facebook group via Icon64, we've been told 'The Shadow over Hawksmill' is now available for digital download. Yes indeed, this game which can be pre-ordered for a big box edition, and viewed through Hayesmaker64's Twitch stream, is a Cthulhu based horror C64 action adventure that requires all your skill to avoid being killed by nasty enemies!

Unhallowed - Spooky text based adventure arrives on the C64, Commodore Plus/4 and Amstrad CPC!

Although it isn't Halloween and Christmas has only just come and gone, there's one game you might want to play if you fancy a scare. As Blerkotron's ZX Spectrum 128k game of ' Unhallowed ', which was released for Halloween, has been ported over to the C64, Commodore Plus/4 and Amstrad CPC thanks to the dedication and hard work of Stefan Vogt and thanks also going to Puddle Software. Stefan converted the original PAW version of the game to the DAAD adventure writer system, which allows it to compile and run on other platforms

Cursed Roots! - A horror adventure game that might creep you out

With Halloween now at the back of our minds and the pumpkins slowly rotting away outside the front door, many of us still like watching horror movies at whatever date the Calender shows. One such game that may satisfy your horror needs and released only recently, is MastroBros latest game 'Cursed Roots'; A game according to the creators, is a horror point-and-click adventure game in which danger and dark mysteries await at every corner!

Way back in the 90's Trilobyte with publishing by Virgin Interactive Entertainment released the interactive movie puzzle adventure game ' The 7th Guest ' on multiple systems including CDI, PC and MAC. It was a first person horror game with adult content, that featured live action video clips and pre-rendered 3D graphics that made it a huge success for its time. This game announced by us sometime ago, is a gory reverse horror game, in which you assume the role of an amorphous alien being and have the ability to rip the insides out of anything human you come across!

Alone in the Dark is an action-adventure game made by Infogrames and originally released in 1992 for DOS. It was re-released the following year in CD-ROM format and ported to the FM Towns and PC-98 computers. It was also ported in 1994 to Macintosh and 3DO and the following year to the Acorn 32-bit computer. And in 2014 it was released for iOS.

Argus, Organism, Sizzler, and Rocky Memphis : The Legend Of Atlantis are some truly great games created by Stuart Collier, Trevor Storey and Saul Cross, and while we wait for Dragonspire to be finished, it looks as if another game is coming that is sure to excite many in the C64 community. As thanks to another heads up from Icon64, they have given us another update to the upcoming game of The shadow over Hawksmill; a Cthulhu based C64 horror, which will be using the Legend of Atlantis engine but with far more action.

LIMBO C64 - Modern Indie game as a work in progress on the C64 gets a rotten meat teaser!

We haven't featured this work in progress C64 game lately, but you'll be pleased to know the modern indie game ' Limbo ' as a C64 game, has been teased again but this time with a rather meaty preview teaser! What was originally a proof of concept by the creator Søren Trautner Madsen and backing of Playdead, looks to be going into a long term project, as not only did the developer release a preview demo last year but it now has clear sound effects keeping that horror overtone intact.

This adventure game announced through our Game Dev : RetroGaming Facebook group, puts you in control of professor Crawford Tillinghast on an expedition into the mountains of Europe on a search for a lost village shrouded in myths and rumours.

The Zing - The Thing inspired horror for the Commodore Amiga

The Thing was one of the greatest horror movies of all time, a 1980's horror film about a parasitic extraterrestrial life-form that assimilates and then imitates other organisms such as the American researchers in Antarctica who encounter this disgusting parasite as the "Thing". Although this post isn't so much about the 1982 gore fest it is about the latest Commodore Amiga game called ' The Zing ', which is inspired by that very movie.

This game developed using P.A.W is a classic text-adventure horror game with a few twists that as the developer says "makes it more palatable for modern players".
