SpiritSphere - Pong meets Zelda in this rather lovely Indie game

Earlier last week Eendhoorn released the competitive local multiplayer game ' SpiritSphere ' for the PC. It looks to have a number of inspirations from classic games such as Pong, Zelda and even Windjammers while mixing them up to create something rather unique and enjoyable to play. Featuring an 8-bit art style that sticks closely to the NES colour palette and a great soundtrack by Gas1312, you'll be battling it out in arenas set in a classic RPG world while picking up mighty power ups to help you or the person you are hoping to defeat.

Marvel Infinity War - Zvitor and Maru's PC Beat Em Up looks rather cool!

It's been a long time since we've featured a good looking fighting game and so to change that, here's a new game developed by Zvitor and Maru using OpenBOR, ' Marvel Infinity War '. This excellent looking game available for your PC, is a throw back to the days of the side scrolling beat em ups from the Mega Drive and arcade machines we used to play and love. Rick Dangerous makes an appearance in Spelunky!

In 2013 Mossmouth, the developers of the original and great Spelunky,  released the HD remake of Spelunky on Steam and GOG on the PC. It was a game in very similar style to the platforming classic rick dangerous, but with cave exploration and treasure-hunting with all new graphics, music, new areas and much more that made Spelunky HD a fantastic game to play. So it was no wonder that this week, a Rick Dangerous mod was released for Spelunky, in which you can play as the legendary character Rick Dangerous, who appeared on the Amiga, Amstrad and many other famous retro systems.

Carrie's Order Up! - Cute and Challenging Arcade game inspired by the likes of Pac-Man

Even though I do like a good horror game, sometimes I like to step back and enjoy the cute side of life, in other words charming graphics, cuddly characters and good fun for the entire family. Moor - A 3D dungeon crawler game inspired by Delver (Concept)

I'm sure many of you remember the game Delver, it was a 3D dungeon crawler that came across as a minecraft style game blended in with a touch of Ultima Underworld. Well as I was trawling through Steam Greenlight I came across a screenshot that looked very much like that game but having a much darker overtone. Sure enough ' Moor ' developed by Fredrik, is inspired by Delver but unlike that game will have puzzle parts to progress through the rooms, so not just running around and bashing enemies.

But with this game, your planet is under threat and your family being wiped out, by the use of face hugging by crawling into enemy suits, you can control them and cause all out revenge on the ones who started the problem in the first place.

Slipstream - Retro inspired racer aiming for a Steam Greenlight success

Throughout this year there has been a surge in retro inspired racers that either look like Lotus or the other classic arcade title of Outrun. Games such as Horizon Chase and Red Hot Overdrive certainly come to mind. Today's feature of 'Slipstream' by ansdor, stood out in a crowd of Steam Greenlight games, as not only does it have those colourful visuals of our retro past such as the atmosphere of 80’s and 90’s games like OutRun, Daytona USA, Super Hang-On and Sonic the Hedgehog but it also has a retrotastic soundtrack to boot!
