Xevious - In dev Arcade game for the Commodore Amiga 1200 via JOTD gets a new preview!

The retro game news just keep on coming, as thanks to another heads up earlier today from a good friend of ours, we have been told us that JOTD has released a new preview download, for his upcoming Arcade - Amiga conversion of the classic game of Xevious. A game that was originally released in the Arcades by Namco's and then ported to other home computers. To coincide with this update, Saberman has done a video of the game below.

Karate Champ VS Amiga - 1980's Arcade fighting game is getting an Amiga version via Jotd

If you remember the 1980's game of 'Karate Champ; An Arcade fighting game that was released in the Arcades and later the Apple II, C64, NES, Virtual Console, iOS via Data East, then you might like this latest news story we've come across via the EAB forums. As Jotd is working on bringing the Arcade version of that classic game over to the Amiga as a new game called Karate Champ VS Amiga. To coincide with this latest update, Jotd has teased some early footage which can be viewed below.

Scramble - The eagerly awaited Arcade to Amiga conversion of Scramble is done!

Scramble - The eagerly awaited Arcade to Amiga conversion of Scramble gets a new build!

Thanks to an early morning heads up from Saberman, we have recently been told that the eagerly awaited Arcade conversion of 'Scramble' which is in development by JOTD for the Amiga, has just been teased with a brand new beta build that's almost 100% Arcade perfect. Yes indeed a game which was also originally released way back in 1983 as Skramble developed by Darrell Etherington still looks to stay true to the original but features a smooth frame rate, classic graphics, and top quality blasting 1980's action.

Well here's another JOTD news story for you, as he has now announced with a WIP teaser video of his upcoming game of 'Amigar'; An arcade conversion of the 1980's classic which is now in development for the Amiga 500 built upon mspacman code base & dev methods.

It wasn't long ago now that here on Indie Retro News, we did multiple features for JOTD's fabulous Arcade conversion of the 1980's hit classic's Pac-Man, a game which was released on the Amiga as Pacman 500 (link). Well today's news came as a complete surprise to us and one I think you'll be pleased to hear, as thanks to another heads up by a good friend of ours, we have learnt that JOTD has released a fully complete version of Ms Pacman over to the Amiga 500; Yet another great Arcade conversion of the 1982 classic that's well worth a download.

We've featured Pac-Man many times now on Indie Retro News, from those mentioned for the Atari 2600 to the Intellivision and even the one that appeared on the Pico-8. Each one varying in style to the 1980's hit classic. Well we've got another update for you Amiga owners, as Earok has just informed us through Facebook, that you can now download PacMan 500 for the Amiga ; an Amiga conversion from the arcade game which has been developed by Jotd and entered into the AmiGameJam competition.

Supercars 2 AGA - A rebuilt & adapted to Amiga AGA ripped from Supercars International 1996 is nearly complete

Way back in 2014 JOTD released the PC version of "Super Cars III" ; a game which was his own remake of the hit action racing classic "Super Cars II". Originally developed by Magnetic Fields and published by Gremlin Graphics in the early 90's for Amiga & Atari ST. Well fast forward to today however and do we have a great update for you. As JOTD has just released another version to his work in progress Supercars 2 AGA; A rebuilt & adapted to AGA ripped from Supercars International 1996. A game which in itself was a re-make of Super Cars II (tweaked gameplay, updated 256-color VGA graphics and a new soundtrack).

Moonstone CD32 - Hot news as an Amiga gem is being beta tested on the Amiga CD32!


If you've got an Amiga CD32 then prepare to have your jaw dropped, as we've just heard from our good friend Earok that a beta version of the incredible and most famous Amiga hack n slasher of all time ' Moonstone ' has been made available for the Amiga CD32. This game which lives on in the hearts of many was first released on the Amiga by Mindscape way back in 1991 as Moonstone : A Hard Days Knight. It was and still is a very gory game and one that if you have in your collection fetches a high price!

Amiga CD32 owners rejoice! WALKER is now on the Amiga CD32!


Of all the games to be pushed onto the Amiga CD32 that I just can't wait to play, has to be the "bloody" fine game ' WALKER', which today has been converted over by Earok and team to the CD32. This incredible action packed shooter by DMA Design/Psygnosis, which was released way back in 1993, puts you and possibly a friend in control of a giant walker like machine, through multiple time periods blasting both man and vehicle to pieces with a very powerful gun.

Gods Deluxe - Into The Wonderful BETA Remake!


Now here's a blast from the past it's 'GODS', an original game by the Bitmap Brothers which was released in 1991-2 for the Amiga, Atari ST, PC, SNES and Sega Megadrive. It is without doubt a brilliant action platformer that was loved by many and those that reviewed it for commercial magazines. It also had that famous tune ' Into The Wonderful ' which if you said it to any Amiga gamer would probably go crazy with the tune playing over and over again in their heads in a constant loop. But today's news is a big update of  'Gods Deluxe' by jotd, which is the PC remake of the 1991 game but with all of the classic levels complete and there's 4 extra full levels as well.

Super Cars III - PC remake of a top down racing classic!


What a great Boxing Day gift, as JOTD has just released the very latest PC version of "Super Cars III" which is his own remake of the hit action racing classic "Super Cars II". Originally developed by Magnetic Fields and published by Gremlin Graphics in the early 90's for Amiga & Atari ST, as you race around tough tracks, earning money, then purchasing better weapons and power-ups to beat the competition in one of the best top down Amiga racing games. Supercars III by JOTD is a Java / GTGE-powered remake of classic Super Cars / Super Cars II game from the Atari ST / Amiga, with stuff borrowed from those games and also from Supercars International (MS-DOS).
