As a kid growing up with the Nintendo, every time you got your hands on a new game, it was an exciting moment. Back then, time seemed endless, but the choices of games were limited, each game from that era became a treasured gem. Over the years, a handful of games remained etched in our memories - titles like Mega Man, Duck Tales, Metroid, and of course the iconic Super Mario Bros series. They all shared something special: vast worlds of levels to explore, challenges to conquer, and a selection of abilities, equipment, or power-ups to aid you in your adventure. Even today, we still play these classics, but finding new ones in the same style as Super Mario Bros. 3 or Kirby's Adventure is a rarity. However, this is about to change. Well it's the NES's turn to be a part of this incredible gaming experience, as we have been informed by Knights of Bytes, that this amazing game originally for the C64, is now available for Pre-order for the NES!

Knights of Bytes announce huge milestone for Sam's Journey C64

Knights of Bytes announced a huge milestone regarding the excellent looking Sam's Journey today. The latest news is they've created 60 level maps and are pushing the capabilities of C64 hardware with the game in its current state.  The cutesy and colourful platformer Sam's Journey looks fantastic and we can't wait to check it out for ourselves.  You can follow the latest updates on Knights of Bytes' twitter and facebook.

Whenever someone says to me "what do you think of the upcoming game ' Sam's Journey ' by Knights of Bytes for the C64", I just have to say these words; " IT LOOKS AWESOME ". Yes indeed, every teased trailer so far has whet not only my appetite but many that have viewed the upcoming game, as it is going to feature incredible graphics, smooth scrolling, multiple worlds, 27 huge levels, character abilities and much much more. In fact it is one of those abilities which is now being featured in a final teaser trailer ' Sam's Perfect Pitch ', where we can see our hero discover another costume that gives him a white cap and a strong throwing arm!

After waking up after a rather rough night to say the least, I was hoping for something to put a smile on my face from the gaming scene. Sure enough directly from Knights of Bytes, they have finally announced the feature list for the incredible looking C64 game that is currently in development ' Sam's Journey ', of which we have featured as soon as it was first mentioned. Not just that, but the developer Chester Kollschen and team under the label Knights of Bytes is also looking for your financial support via his Patreon page.

As many of you know for some time now we've kept a keen eye on Knights of Bytes rather special in development platformer ' Sam's Journey ' which is coming to the C64. But this time we have been informed by RetroNerd that the developer has shown off the very first prototype of the cartridge that may be the precursor to the commercial product when it's released at some point this year. In fact it isn't just any cartridge but in joining forces with Individual Computers they have created one that not only has the game on it but is also able to save your progress!

Nearly every day so far, I've been thinking out loud what is going on with Sam's Journey and why haven't we had any new information about this jaw dropping C64 game in development. And sure enough today my waiting has ended. As Knights of Bytes has just informed us of a new gameplay trailer with screenshots that has been released which stars Sam as a sharp toothed Vampire ready to fly about and suck your blood.

We've been featuring this game non stop ever since that April day when others claimed it was all an April fools as it looked just too good. How wrong they were, as today yet again we have another update, and this time Sam is trapped in an underground passage and the only way to get out, is a rather unusual usage of a special switch!
