First Person Dungeon Crawlers have a huge fan base on Indie Retro News, so many of us love games such as Dungeon Master, Eye of the Beholder and my personal favorite Ishar. Well here we are with another special announcement especially if you love dungeon crawlers, as Sabbas Eleftheriadis has not only shown off some brand new screenshots for the work in progress PC game of The Darkness Below, but there's also been a very large update! A game that the creator says is "Set to be the largest single-player first person grid-based cRPG of all time".

Well this is amazing news, as if you were a huge fan of the Broken Sword games, more especially the Broken Sword: The Shadow of the Templars, which is a graphic adventure developed by Revolution Software and published by Virgin Interactive back in 1996. Will pleased to know that this incredible game has been re-released as a Reforged edition through GOG and Steam. A new edition of the game which now features "glorious 4K visuals and iconic remastered audio, pitching intrepid American George Stobbart and fearless journalist Nico Collard into a journey of perilous adventures and ancient conspiracies".
Ambermoon.net - Open source remake of a fantastic CRPG gets a brand new 1.9.4 release!
Originally released in 1993 for the Amiga by Thalion Software, Ambermoon was the second part of an unfinished trilogy and sequel to Amberstar that was only released in Germany. In was an incredible RPG for its time, and featured 3D graphics that were considered revolutionary for the Amiga, but sadly for the company it couldn't save them from collapse. Well today's news is another special heads up for fans of this great game, as Pyrdacor has released the latest Ambermoon.net update of version 1.9.4: An open source Linux, Mac, Pi4 and Windows remake of this fantastic CRPG.

I've always been a fan of the dungeon crawler, there's something to be said about moving through a dark underground passage, looking for loot, avoiding traps and fighting the many beasts that lurk within. In actual fact I'm more inclined to play an old retro first person grid based crawler than any top down modern one that's released today. Exploding Fist Remake - A remake of the C64 classic "The Way of the Exploding Fist"
Here's a game I remember fondly it's ' The Way of the Exploding Fist' ; a 1980s fighting game published by Melbourne House that appeared on many different systems such as the Amstrad, C16, C64, ZX Spectrum, BBC Micro, and even the Acorn! This rather famous game which was very similar to Karate Champ even featured gameplay as a series of one-on-one karate matches. Well if you too remember this fine game back in the day, you may be interested to know as thanks to Liqmatrix contacting just recently, he has told us that Coyney74 has released an update to his work in progress Exploding Fist Remake for PC and Linux.

I think it's about time we put those homebrew games aside and look towards an Adventure game that may excite those who played Adventure games throughout the 90's. As we've recently been informed through our email and Twitter, that Tall Story Games Ltd humorous point and click adventure game of 'Lucy Dreaming' is coming to Steam as of 18 Oct, 2022. Kitsune Zero - A charming retro styled PC platformer as a nod to Super Mario Bros
If you want to play a new platformer that not only looks charming, but has plenty of enemies and challenges to be had, then as of this moment you can play the latest release of 'Kitsune Zero' by Kitsune Games. Kathy Rain Director's Cut - Award-winning point-and-click adventure returns in the Director's Cut release!
Coming completely out of the blue and one I think I'll be hooked on this week as an Adventure fan, is Clifftop Games retro-ish point and click adventure of ' Kathy Rain : Director's Cut'; an enhanced version of the award winning game which is available for PC, Mac and Linux. As for the story, which every cool adventure game needs, you play as Kathy Rain, as she tries to come to terms with her own troubled past as she investigates the mysterious death of her recently deceased grandfather!
