Gameboy Tetris V2 Preview - The original Tetris on a C64? Oh Yes!
What a week for the C64 we've just had, with lots of cool new games and previews to enjoy. But it's just got even better with the preview release of ' Gameboy Tetris V2 ' by Wiebo De Wit. Yes indeed, the original Gameboy classic with it's block switching and turning fun is now available to enjoy as an early scene release found on Github by Laxity untouched for more than 5 months. But that's not all, as Laxity have added a Joystick option and a restart! So make a beer, grab a Pizza and reach that high score!
Mario Run Preview - A non stop C64 runner twist on a classic
Before you get too excited this isn't the original NES platformer of Super Mario converted to the C64, but a runner game by Christian and George Rottensteiner released as a game preview with a trainer by Laxity. Unlike the original 1985 hit classic, 'Mario Run' for the C64 involves non stop running to get to the end flag while collecting coins and avoiding being trapped behind objects or falling between the ledges.
SidRip Relive - Banging tunes for the C64 listed by SIDrip Alliance
We have just been tweeted by a little birdy that some of our C64 owners are feeling a little let down by the lack of tunes today. So we rushed out and grabbed the latest SidRip Relive album to feature which in our opinion sounds awesome! Released by SIDrip Alliance and composed by many famous artists such as Rob Hubbard, Jeroen Tel, Purple Motion, Martin Galway, Laxity and many more, these are some of the finest tunes ever to grace your C64! Load up that old retro system, turn up the speakers, because believe me, you'll be replaying these classics again and again. Oh and there's animation in this album too!

Scramble v1.4 - Brilliant little shoot em up gets a new C64 build
I was just thinking to myself could this day get any better for my breadbin C64, and going by the latest update from Laxity, it just has! Welcome to 'Scramble' version 1.14; a very nice side scrolling shoot em up C64 port of a much earlier game which was originally released way back in 1983 as Skramble developed by Darrell Etherington. This version developed by Thomas Kite, stays true to the original but features a much smoother frame rate and if you get the latest Laxity release it also features a handy trainer.
Ghosts'n Goblins Arcade - A stunning revamp for the C64 is now available! (Indie Retro News Exclusive!) {UPDATE}
In March of 2015 Nostalgia blew us all away with their C64 release of 'Commando Arcade SE'; a brilliant Arcade revamp of the 1980's C64 hit classic Commando. It was a faithful version to the Arcade and featured more levels, new level features, new graphics, a new scroller and much much more. Yet they weren't content with doing just Commando, as Nostalgia are hopefully going to release Ghosts'n'Goblins Arcade this weekend, perhaps even today Saturday! (See Update). True to form, this version will once again be a faithful version to the original arcade, whereas the original Commodore 64 version is somewhat different from the arcade version as it only features the Graveyard and Forest, The Ice Palace, The Floating Platforms and Firebridge and The Caves in that order. So if you thought Commando Arcade SE was brilliant, wait till you play this latest overhaul!
5 games of enjoyment now available for the C64! (Fully Featured)
Not to be left behind with all the latest ZX Spectrum titles appearing, the C64 has also got some great games for you to enjoy that have either been re-released due to a new crack/trainer or in the case of Triad and Laxity, preview games that are still a work in progress. As such rather than post one game per article, in this one we will feature all of them and if they are worthy of your play time.
Pole Position 3HD - Laxity races ahead with another C64 cheatable release
In 1986 (Tronic-Verlag) released Pole Position for the C64; a racing game where fast driving reactions count! Although this game had the same name as the arcade release by Atari in 1984 it did not feature a first person viewpoint but a top down scrolling one with cars constantly appearing that if you crash into, will spin your car out of control. A decent enough game, that certainly gives an impression of speed, has been re-released today but this time by Laxity with a handy number of cheats.
Space Ambush +1EJHD - The latest trainer for a classic C64 shooter
It's the weekend and what better way to spend it than playing the latest homebrew titles and or cracked/trainered C64 games. So today we have the Laxity +1EJHD cracked version of 'Space Ambush' to play; a 1986 C64 space shooter with a difference. While travelling through space your rather large space ship is under attack from Aliens, but unlike most shooters of it's era, you have two directional turrets to defend yourself. But that's not all this game has to offer, with Alien attack patterns, asteroid storms and cool bonuses! Certainly a great way to spend a Saturday.
Nibbler +3HFD - Lost for 28 years c64 game re-surfaces!
Here's some fantastic news for you C64 owners as Laxity have released 'NIBBLER';a C64 game that has been lost for 28 years has now been cracked with cheats for your retro gaming enjoyment. First to appear in 1984 by Roland and Martin, you play as a snake that must eat apples and pellets before the score runs to 0 or you end up eating your own body.
Bunker +5ED - 1980's C64 shooter cracked by Laxity
Another day another release for the C64, as we look towards Laxity for the latest crack of a C64 shooter. First released in 1986 as a rather unknown game, you must defend your base from the waves of Gluks before they drop their bombs and disappear into hyperspace. An usually controlled game as left and right controls one cannon and up and down controls the other. Can you survive? Or will both your cannons be destroyed and your tunnel entrance wiped out!
