SpiritSphere - Pong meets Zelda in this rather lovely Indie game
Earlier last week Eendhoorn released the competitive local multiplayer game ' SpiritSphere ' for the PC. It looks to have a number of inspirations from classic games such as Pong, Zelda and even Windjammers while mixing them up to create something rather unique and enjoyable to play. Featuring an 8-bit art style that sticks closely to the NES colour palette and a great soundtrack by Gas1312, you'll be battling it out in arenas set in a classic RPG world while picking up mighty power ups to help you or the person you are hoping to defeat.
Bomberman Cx - Play as Black Bomberman and more in this great NES hack!
When I was growing up there was a game I used to love playing with friends, whereby your task was to drop bombs and either blow up other enemies or your very best friend(s) in a maze like game screen. That game was Bomberman also known as Dynablaster, which was actually first released way back in 1983 by Hudson Soft and then published by Konami. It was and still is a fantastic game that can still be played to this day on many different systems and as different versions/sequels. In fact the reason we are mentioning the game today is for the release of ' Bomberman Cx ', which is a rather decent hack of Bomberman on the NES!

Operation KREEP - Colourful frantic multiplayer shooter, available 10th June on Steam!
As many of you well know, I'm a sucker for games that look a bit retro, and when it comes to ' Operation KREEP ' which will be available on Steam for PC as from the 10th June, it has that and much much more! This game is a two-dimensional top-down couch co-op (hot-seat) multiplayer action game and your task? To wipe out an extraterrestrial organism, which is threatening deep space exploration missions! Beware though, there are other members up for the task, who are supposed to be working with you, but the thought of cold hard cash to keep the alien alive, will end up in a fight!
Kingdom of Loot - 16bit Online JRPG that's free to play, is now in Early Access
I don't usually mention free to play games that are online, as usually they are pretty poor and contain a lot of micro transactions, but when it comes to 'Kingdom of Loot' by EpicBeyond Studios I'll happily make an exception. This is a 16bit JRPG inspired by many of the classics, as not only does it have lovely SNES style art work with a lot of effort put into it, but this game has full online multiplayer action and according to the developers has a big potential list of features that may draw in the crowds.
Don't Crawl - Duo control retro inspired platformer needs your Greenlight votes
You probably read my earlier post about people being a bit bored of platformers, but hear me out. 'Don't Crawl' which is going through a Steam Greenlight campaign isn't your average platformer, unlike the finish the level by jumping over enemies and picking up items along the way style of game, this one is not only retro inspired but it features a two player hero and enemy control system. One player controls the hero who tries to beat the levels whereas the other one takes control of the monsters and tries to kill the hero and then take their place!

Last year we mentioned the special retrokomp 2015 demo edition of Tanks Furry by Pawel Nowak, Krzysztof Matys and Marcin Swiech for the Amiga 1200 and above. It was a rather nice looking top down shooter that had explosions, power ups, great detail and cool animations. Well that same game made by a group named as PROJECT R3D will be released towards Feb 2016. To coincide with this news, a new official trailer has been released!

Clumsy Moose Season - Weird and wacky Steam Greenlight success
We've seen some really wacky games appearing on Steam, and it looks as if the Steam Greenlight success of 'Clumsy Moose Season' by Enrick Lambert is most certainly one of them. In this game which can be played by friends, you play as a stupid moose living amongst the islands inhabited by several angry rangers. The problem is, it's moose season, and due to them being a bit dumb they don't even realize it. Thankfully though this gives you the opportunity to do what you want in the most weirdest of ways without even thinking about those annoying rangers!
Moonshot - This physics-based shooter needs your greenlight votes!
We don't often mention multiplayer games aiming for your Steam Greenlight votes, but when it came to Moonshot, developed by Brentelmer, we just had to make an exception. What looks to be a seriously cool physics-based Scorched Earth style of game with nice detail, you play as a choice of up to 4 different space tanks on Asteroids to blast your opposition into bits with spectacular explosions, and a choice of weapon upgrades!
Gurgamoth Lives - Multiplayer party game with SPIKES!
That's enough retro for one day, as now it's time for a game whereby you can play with your friends and sacrifice them to the God Gurgamoth! Welcome to ' Gurgamoth Lives 'by Galvanic Games, a fast paced 2-4 multiplayer game, relying on quick reaction times as you smash your friends into Spikes as the ultimate sacrifice that looks wicked cool. Oh and don't mess about, because if the round lasts longer than a few seconds, everyone will be at risk from the encroaching walls of death.
